  • Publication number: 20180335307
Abstract: An approach is provided for point-based map matchers using machine learning. The approach involves retrieving points collected within proximity to a map feature represented by a link of a geographic database. The probe points are collected from sensors of devices traveling near the map feature. The approach also involves determining a probe feature set for each probe point comprising probe attribute values, and determining a link feature set for the link comprising link attribute values. The apparatus further involves classifying, using a machine learning classifier, each probe point to determine a matching probability based on the probe feature set and the link feature to indicate a probability that each probe point is classified as map-matched to the link. The machine learning classifier is trained using ground truth data comprising reference probe points with known map-matches to respective reference links, and comprising known probe attribute values and known link attribute values.

  • Patent number: 10113967
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for analyzing the excitation spectra of fluorescent particles in a flowing stream. The system uses a white light laser and color separation optics to provide a spatially-distributed, continuous color-spectrum excitation light system that is used to illuminate a region of a flowing stream. A particle that passes through the detection region traverses the full dispersed spectrum of excitation light, and the fluorescence emissions from the particle are continuously measured as it passes through the detection region. The measured fluorescence emissions at each wavelength of excitation light, which changes through full spectrum of the excitation light as the particle passes through the detection region, provides the excitation spectrum of the particle.

  • Publication number: 20180260350
Abstract: An example embodiment includes an idle state detection circuit. The idle state detection circuit includes a bias current loop, a rectifying circuit loop, a voltage translating loop, and a filter circuit. The bias current loop provides a rectifying diode a forward current such that the rectifying diode detects an alternating current (AC) signal received from a transmitter via one or more transmission nodes. The rectifying circuit loop stores differential peak to peak amplitude information representative of a peak to peak amplitude of the AC signal in a first capacitor that is electrically coupled to a cathode side of the rectifying diode. The voltage translating loop converts the differential peak to peak amplitude information stored at the first capacitor to a single-end voltage signal across a first resistor that is electrically coupled to the cathode side of the rectifying diode. The filter circuit filters an AC component of the single-end voltage signal.
