Abstract: A tower barrel for wind electric power generation includes a barrel wall for supporting a wind turbine generator system, a torsion cable direction-changing device which is placed in the tower barrel and fixed on the barrel wall for holding the cable from the wind turbine generator system and restraining the torsion of the cable, and cable clamps which are placed under the torsion cable direction-changing device and connected to the barrel wall for securing the cable. The torsion cable direction-changing device includes a beam and two supports for the beam, the supports are fixed on the barrel wall. The torsion cable direction-changing device in the tower barrel improves the safety of the cable, and so improves the safety of the wind turbine generator system.

Abstract: A multi-actuator robotic device for performing knot-tying is provided herein. The device performs an automatic knot-tying to mimic human hand making a clove hitch knot using a sequence of coordinated string delivery and capturing actions and is particularly useful in the field of hop twining. In one example, the device uses four pneumatic actuators to perform nine coordinated knot-tying actions.

Abstract: A processor in a mobile wireless device communicates detailed state information about attachments to a user identity module card embedded in the mobile wireless device. The processor detects a change in an attach state of the mobile wireless device for at least one of a plurality of attachment types. The processor determines the attach state of the mobile wireless device for each of the plurality of attachment types and sends a status message to the user identity module card indicating the determined attach states. The plurality of attachment types can include at least a circuit switched attachment and a packet switched attachment. The processor can wait until completion of circuit switched and packet switched attachments of the mobile wireless device to the wireless network prior to sending the status message.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for sampling from distributed data streams. Data elements are received at site servers configured to collect and report data to a coordinator device. The site servers assign a binary string to each of the data elements. Each bit of the binary strings can be independently set to a 0 or a 1 with a probability of one half. The binary string is used to sample from the received data elements, and the data elements and/or the sampled data elements can be transmitted to a coordinator device. The coordinator device can examine one or more bits of the binary string to draw samples of the received data elements in accordance with desired probabilities.

Abstract: An N×N switching apparatus for optical components is provided. A switching apparatus includes a first element that provides for a supply of a length of optical fiber in tension and has an interface component for maintaining an end of the optical fiber in tension at a first position. The switching apparatus further includes a second element that has a coupling component for detachably maintaining the end of the optical fiber at a second position. The first and second elements are arranged such that the end of the optical fiber is movable between the first and second elements.

Abstract: A method for establishing a network platform for renting the electronic publications adopts a grid algorithm, links to the Internet via various networks, and establishes the network platform having an information service grid character for renting the electronic publication. Three types of nodes are established in the information service grid: a first type of node is established as service domain owner and the administrator grid node; a second type of node is established as service provider grid node that is composed of the consumers of the electronic publication; and the third type of node is established as the service provider grid node which is composed of the publishers of the electronic publication; the three types of node provide the network information service by utilizing the grid computing mode and the SOAP. The service provider grid nodes can do online maintenance on the content of the electronic publication provided by them and collect the charge.

Abstract: Ordering search results may include obtaining an exposed log file from a log system, computing a Bayesian posterior probability for relevancy between the log file and a search request, computing an expected value of the relevancy between the log file and the search request based on the Bayesian posterior probability, storing the search request and an identifier of the log file as a key and the expected value of the relevancy between the log file and the search request as a value into a search data structure, in response to receiving a search request submitted by a user, finding expected values of relevancy between the submitted search request and log files that are relevant to the submitted search request from the search data structure, and ordering the found log files in a descending order of the expected values.

In one preferred embodiment of the present invention, if the task for the system of the present invention is to summarize document content, the thinking mode will first analyze the identification information of the element files for words (or phrases) in the document to identify key words (or phrases), then the key words (or phrases) will be analyzed to establish links between key words (phrases). By the frequency of appearances of the key words (or phrases), in combination of the appearances of other key words (or phrases) that are related to the key words, the most important key word (or phrase) or key words (or phrases) can be obtained. Thus the document can be summarized by the most important key word (or phrase) or key words (or phrases) as the topic (or topics) of the document.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for bleed control in a packaging layout having a plurality of packaging decoration patterns for making a plurality of packaging boxes. The method includes obtaining bleed lines based on a bleed width from cutting lines of each packaging decoration pattern for each packaging box. The method also includes irradiating light beams toward the packaging layout in four directions substantially perpendicular to each side of the packaging layout to form irradiated bleed line segments. The method further includes calculating a ratio of the projection length of each of irradiated bleed line segments to a respective projection length of a respective bleed line for each packaging decoration pattern in a respective irradiating direction. The method also includes excluding the irradiated bleed line segments for releasing bleed limit if the ratio is less than the threshold, and otherwise releasing bleed limit for the irradiated bleed line facing the four directions.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for identifying synonym and utilizing such synonym to conduct search is disclosed. The disclosed method includes: obtaining arbitrary two words to be identified; determining whether a shortest edit distance between the two words less than or equal to an edit distance threshold; determining whether the two words to be identified exist in a preset knowledge database, and if an answer is yes then searching a smallest granularity type with highest weight value for each word in the knowledge database; and if the two word have the same smallest granularity type with highest weight value, then determining such two words are synonyms, or non-synonym otherwise. The disclosed techniques greatly improve accuracy of synonym identification and guarantee effect of synonym identification.

Abstract: Generating ranked search results includes receiving a plurality of matching information items that match a search request, ranking at least some of the plurality of matching information items using a linear ranking model that linearly combines a first plurality of feature values to obtain a first set of ranked results, ranking at least some of the first set of ranked results using a nonlinear ranking model that nonlinearly combines a second plurality of feature values to obtain a second set of ranked results, and provide a search response based on the second set of ranked results.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method of providing suggested terms. The method includes: receiving an initial query input from a user, and obtaining corresponding suggested queries based on the initial query; determining at least two categories corresponding to the suggested queries and at least two clickable regions usable for looking up the suggested queries; separately determining a category weight associated with each obtained category in each clickable region for the suggested queries, and a click attribute weight associated with each clickable region; computing a degree of confidence of each category for the suggested queries; and separately determining target categories for the suggested queries based on the degree of confidence of each category for the suggested queries. As such, the user may quickly identify his/her search intention based on the target categories corresponding to the suggested queries, thereby effectively improving the speed of information searching.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus enabling dynamic and adaptive network selection. In one embodiment of the invention, a device quickly identifies the a subset of networks providing service to a particular location without obtaining and/or prioritizing a full list of all available networks. A “highest” priority network is selected for registration. For example, a mobile device that cannot locate its home (or last registered) network (e.g., Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN)), searches for any available network. The mobile device can identify its current location from information broadcast by any networks (e.g., a Mobile Country Code (MCC)). Once the mobile has identified its current location, it searches for prioritized networks within its current location.

Abstract: A vessel for transporting and hoisting offshore wind turbine includes a hull, fixing brackets, first sliding rails, second sliding rails, a buffer device, rotary cranes and winch devices. A U-shaped opening is provided at the stern of the hull for a wind turbine to pass through. The fixing brackets are arranged in two rows in parallel, and their bottoms are fixed onto the deck in the hull. The second sliding rails are in parallel with the first sliding rails. A hanging beam slidably matched with the first sliding rails is installed on the body of the wind turbine. The buffer device is fixed to the bottom of the wind turbine. The rotary cranes are fixed on the top of two sides of the U-shaped opening. The winch devices are installed on the stern of the hull. An offshore wind turbine transporting and hoisting method using the vessel is also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods facilitate a search and identify documents and associated metadata reflecting content of the documents. In one implementation, a method receives a query comprising a set of search terms, identifies a stored document in response to the query, and determines a score value for the retrieved document based on a similarity between one or more of the query search terms and metadata associated with the identified document. The method locates the identified document in a citation network of baseline query results, the citation network comprising a first set of documents that cite to the identified document and a second set of documents cited to by the identified document. The method further determines a new score value of the identified document as a function of the score value and a quantity and a quality of documents within the first and second set of documents.
