Processing a user query comprises receiving the user query; retrieve a plurality of results in response to the user query; determining a semantic pattern that corresponds to the user query; determining a set of filtering and ranking operations that corresponds to the semantic pattern based on the correspondence relationships; and performing the set of filtering and ranking operations on the plurality of results to generate a set of filtered and ranked results.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus of knowledge base building to automatically construct a knowledge base. Furthermore, the disclosed techniques can be used to improve the accuracy of that knowledge base. In one aspect, a method acquires a sentence from a webpage using a basic data processing layer of a computing apparatus. The acquired sentence is parsed into words using a data mining layer of the computing apparatus. One or more representative words in a first category of a knowledge base are matched with the words parsed from the acquired sentence. When there is a match between one of the representative words and one of the words parsed from the acquired sentence, a string of words adjacent the matched word in the acquired sentence is added to the first category as a first entry.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for identifying synonym and utilizing such synonym to conduct search is disclosed. The disclosed method includes: obtaining arbitrary two words to be identified; determining whether a shortest edit distance between the two words less than or equal to an edit distance threshold; determining whether the two words to be identified exist in a preset knowledge database, and if an answer is yes then searching a smallest granularity type with highest weight value for each word in the knowledge database; and if the two word have the same smallest granularity type with highest weight value, then determining such two words are synonyms, or non-synonym otherwise. The disclosed techniques greatly improve accuracy of synonym identification and guarantee effect of synonym identification.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for bleed control in a packaging layout having a plurality of packaging decoration patterns for making a plurality of packaging boxes. The method includes obtaining bleed lines based on a bleed width from cutting lines of each packaging decoration pattern for each packaging box. The method also includes irradiating light beams toward the packaging layout in four directions substantially perpendicular to each side of the packaging layout to form irradiated bleed line segments. The method further includes calculating a ratio of the projection length of each of irradiated bleed line segments to a respective projection length of a respective bleed line for each packaging decoration pattern in a respective irradiating direction. The method also includes excluding the irradiated bleed line segments for releasing bleed limit if the ratio is less than the threshold, and otherwise releasing bleed limit for the irradiated bleed line facing the four directions.

This seamless bitstream switching schema significantly improves the efficiency of scalable video coding over a broad range of bit rates.

Following transmission of the enhancement layer bitstream, the decoder tries to detect errors in the packets. Upon detection, the decoder seeks forward in the bitstream for the next known resynchronization mark. Once this mark is found, the decoder is able to begin decoding the next video packet. With the addition of many resynchronization marks within each frame, the decoder can recover very quickly and with minimal data loss in the event of a packet loss or channel error in the received enhancement layer bitstream.

Sequences of tags are generated by assigning tags to the components. A sequence of states is determined based on the sequences of tags. A candidate record including candidate fields is extracted from a second data source. A numerical record including numerical fields is computed by comparing the key fields and the candidate fields using comparison functions.
