Abstract: An implantable coaxial lead includes a cable with male and female connectors. The cable includes inner and outer helical coils separated by an inner insulator tube, with an outer insulator tube surrounding the outer helical coil. The male connector includes an outer conductive cylinder, a conductive pin and an insulator molded in between. For increased strength, a braided cylinder, infused with rubber, is included at the juncture of the male connector and the cable. The female connector includes a cylinder formed by two conducting body elements and an intervening insulating body element. The female connector includes respective conductive tension elements configured to engage the male connector. • Publication number: 20030050623
Abstract: An implantable infusion device includes of a disc-shaped housing that is made from a biocompatible material. The housing contains a reservoir for holding a volume of infusion medium, such as a medication to be administered to the patient. A reservoirs for an implantable infusion devices may be configured to reduce the thickness requirements of the device, without compromising volume capacity of the device. In addition, such a reservoir configuration can allow multiple dispensing and fill or re-fill operations, with reduced risk of damage to the reservoir components. The reservoir defines a chamber that contains at least one flexible diaphragm. Each diaphragm has an outer peripheral edge within the chamber, a convolution adjacent the peripheral edge and a generally smooth central portion that is free to flex within the chamber, wherein the convolution enhances the flexibility of the diaphragm. A ring is provided in alignment with the peripheral edge of each diaphragm.

  • Publication number: 20020143818
Abstract: A system for quickly and easily creating a structured document is disclosed. A structured document may be configured to be a document adhering to a set of pre-defined rules providing order to the content of the document. By providing sets of rules, a limited set of structured document templates may be provided while still retaining flexibility of creation for the user. A Document Type Definition (“DTD”) may be configured to provide this set of pre-defined rules for a selected template. The Document Authoring System (“DAS”) may be configured to receive a user selection of a template, the template selection being based on the type of structured document the user intends to generate. The DAS, in response to a selected template, presents the user with a graphical user interface with which to quickly and easily enter information.

  • Publication number: 20010050153
Abstract: Wood pulp is bleached using hydrogen peroxide as the oxidative bleaching agent in the presence of magnesium hydroxide or magnesium oxide. The bleaching process is carried out in the presence of magnesium hydroxide as the predominant, and preferably essential, source of alkali. The process optionally includes transition metal chelants, such as DTPA or EDTA in the bleaching slurry. The process eliminates the need for added caustic and silicate in such systems and can be carried out at or near neutral pH of 5.0 to 8.5.
