  • Publication number: 20040030768
Abstract: A system and method for downloading software to a plurality of devices in a storage network. A command processor receives commands from an external source to download a software module to a plurality of devices matching a predefined set of criteria. A device selector module receives a command from the command processor and selects devices that satisfy the criteria in the command. A coordinator module coordinates code load for the software module to be downloaded, and a multivendor device download module initiates a software download to a plurality of devices in the network after authentication. The system may implement multiple techniques to discover various devices in a Storage Area Network (SAN), and may perform path and load-based distributed parallel schedulable code load to heterogeneous devices in the storage area network using a unified vendor device independent code load interface. The code load process may utilize host agents that are constructed using a layered architecture.

  • Patent number: 6676382
Abstract: Motor speed, motor amps, float position and elapsed run time are monitored to determine whether a sump pump is in a normal condition, a jammed condition, an inadequate pumping rate condition, a dry running condition or a stuck float condition. A processor is configured to increase the motor speed in response to an inadequate pumping rate condition, and to rapidly energize the motor clockwise and counterclockwise in response to a jammed condition or a stuck float condition. The processor provides signals to a display for displaying information about the condition that the pump is in. The pump is set up to receive power from either an AC power source or a battery power source. Availability of the AC power source is monitored and the pump is switched to operate from the battery power source when AC power is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 6649839
Abstract: A sump pump has a float operated alarm switch mounted on the top end of the pump housing for activating an alarm when water rises above a normal operating level. The alarm is in a remote enclosure with the pump power plug so that plugging in the unit automatically positions the alarm in a desirable location to be heard. The power cord and alarm switch wire extend through a flexible corrugated tube that is attached to the pump housing and the alarm enclosure by strain relief connections that do not compressively crush the tube.

  • Patent number: 6637347
Abstract: A module is provided for use with a drive mechanism particularly suited for plug-type railcar doors to prevent “overspinning” and “drifting.” The mechanism disclosed is a double brake-type mechanism and includes a first rotatably mounted member. The first member is arranged to transmit force in either direction of rotation and is connected with an input drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a rotatable pinion gear carried on a rotatable input shaft extending generally parallel to the axis of rotation of the first member. The pinion gear is connected with the shaft by means which cause it to move longitudinally of the shaft to a first or a second spaced point depending upon the direction the shaft is rotated. At each of the points, there are ratchets which are freely rotatable relative to the shaft except when the pinion gear moves to engage them at their respective points. When engaged, the ratchets permit movement of the shaft only in one direction.

  • Publication number: 20030060215
Abstract: A system for indicating the presence and locations of subscribers in a geographic area for wireless mobile stations includes a subscriber locator that provides the wireless mobile stations with a displayable image. The subscriber locator interoperates with a subscriber database of a cellular telephone service provider that services the geographic area. The subscriber database can be a HLR and/or VLR. The displayable image utilizes pixels of the wireless mobile station in a functional dependent manner, on the presence and locations of subscribers within the geographic area. The displayable image can include an indication of a landmark.

  • Publication number: 20030060240
Abstract: Non-verbal communications between users of wireless mobile devices are facilitated using image messages. An image message may e.g. convey information about the sender user, in particular, current information about the sender user. In one aspect, a user may select an image message category, and select an image message among the image messages of the selected image message category for transmission, to quickly, efficiently and graphically convey (current) information about the user. The process may be performed to form a mixed media message. Received image message to convey current information may be aged via time and/or color displays.

  • Publication number: 20020160818
Abstract: A wireless mobile phone is provided with one or more buttons and complementary logic to facilitate entry of encoded representations of a variable length encoding scheme of alphanumeric data. As a result, a user may use the provided facilities to engage in non-verbal communication for sensitive subject matters in the middle of a call. In one embodiment, the encoded representations are Morse codes. In another embodiment, the encoded representations are custom designed. In one embodiment, the complementary logic further facilitates echoing on a display, alphanumeric data corresponding to any entered encoded representations. Additionally, each of the code entry buttons includes one or more light emitting diodes (LEDs), and the LEDs are lit to visually echo the encoded representations of the variable length encoding scheme of letters, numbers or punctuations entered through a standard input keypad.

  • Patent number: 6462413
Abstract: A heatsink assembly and method of fabrication and use for high power RF LDMOS transistors such as those used in mobile telephone basestation pre-antenna amplifiers wherein die attachment to the heatsink flange occurs prior to leadframe/spacer-to-flange bonding. Various bonding methods are disclosed which do not compromise the die-to-flange attachment bond. A unique leadframe/spacer/flange heatsink package is also disclosed which automatically properly orients attachment of the leadframe/spacer to the flange, and provides for a thickened spacer. A unique leadframe having contact projections also avoids later wire bonding. A unique leadframe/spacer/lid combination is disclosed which allows in one step the bonding of the leadframe to the flange, electrically contacting the die, and encapsulation.
