  • Patent number: 9618165
Abstract: A light emitting apparatus comprises: an LED-based light source; a spherical, spheroidal, or toroidal diffuser generating a Lambertian light intensity distribution output at any point on the diffuser surface responsive to illumination inside the diffuser; and a base including a base connector. The LED based light source, the diffuser, and the base are secured together as a unitary LED lamp installable in a lighting socket by connecting the base connector with the lighting socket. The diffuser is shaped and arranged respective to the LED based light source in the unitary LED lamp to conform with an isolux surface of the LED based light source. • Publication number: 20170028586
Abstract: A system and process for detecting dynamic segregation in concrete rotated within a mixer drum, such as mounted on a delivery truck. A system processor is programmed to monitor an instantaneous and averaged rheology parameter (e.g., instantaneous and averaged slump values) and to deploy one or more protocols for detecting the occurrence of segregation. A first protocol comprises monitoring the averaged slump or other rheology value of concrete during and immediately after a jump in drum speed of at least plus or minus four rotations per minute and detecting when a change in the averaged slump value meets or exceeds a threshold limit pre-selected by the user or the system processor; and an optional second protocol comprises monitoring the instantaneous slump or other rheology value of the concrete when the mixer drum is rotating at a constant speed for at least three successive rotations.

  • Patent number: 9542321
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a system and method for interleaving data utilizing a random access buffer that includes a plurality of independently accessible memory slots. The random access buffer is configured to store slices of incoming data sectors in free memory slots, where a free memory slot is identified by a status flag associated with a logical address of the free memory slot. Meanwhile, a label buffer is configured to store labels associated with the slices of the incoming data sectors in a sequence based upon an interleaving scheme. Media sectors including the interleaved data slices are read out from the memory slots of the random access buffer in order of the sequence of labels stored by the label buffer. As the media sectors are read out of the random access buffer, the corresponding memory slots are freed up for incoming slices of the next super-sector.

  • Publication number: 20160290408
Abstract: A vertical in-line split couple pump includes a motor shaft having a motor shaft collar; a pump shaft having a pump shaft collar with a pump shaft angled collar surface oblique to an axis of the motor and pump shafts; and a coupler having coupler halves that attach together, that have a couple groove to receive the motor shaft collar, and have a couple angled groove to receive the pump shaft collar. The couple angled groove has a couple angled groove surface oblique to the axis. The coupler halves respond to a force that moves them together to couple the pump and motor shaft together, moves the pump shaft angled collar surface in relation to the couple angled groove surface, causing the pump shaft to move upwardly towards the motor shaft along the axis, to provide a way to jack-up and recouple the pump shaft and any impeller attached thereto by one mechanic.

  • Patent number: 9353341
Abstract: An improved flavoring composition and process for brewing malt beverages is disclosed. In one embodiment of the invention, the flavoring composition is formed from a high solids percent, room temperature stable, partially aqueous composition of a potassium salt of iso-?-acids. Such composition may be added to the wort kettle or else used as a post-fermentation additive, preferably after dilution with demineralized water. In another embodiment, the flavoring composition comprises a mixture containing reduced (rho-) iso-?-acids in alkali metal salts form, ?-acids and hop oil. This latter composition is useful as a substitute for normal kettle extract, hops or hop pellets, allowing easy preparation of beer that resists formation of unpleasant, “skunky” flavors but has otherwise similar flavor and physical properties.
