  • Patent number: 7799555
Abstract: An electroporator for high-throughput electroporation is constructed with a well plate in which each well has internal electrodes that extend beyond the opening of the well to form contact areas, either as horizontal platforms extending laterally from the well rims or as extended heights of thin electrode plates. The electroporator also includes a lid that contains circuitry and electrical contacts that mate with the exposed contact areas in the well plate. • Publication number: 20090218829
Abstract: The invention is a locking device for a garbage dumpster. The invention includes a vertical channel attached to the front wall of a dumpster. A spring loaded vertical post extends through the vertical channel. A locking mechanism is attached to the spring loaded vertical post and rotatably attached to the top of the vertical channel. When a dumpster is on the ground, the weight of the dumpster against the ground engages the lock on top of the dumpster lid. When the dumpster is lifted from ground, the lock is disengaged from the dumpster lid via a spring.

  • Publication number: 20090177146
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatuses and methods to safely and economically deliver infusion fluid to a patient during a medical procedure. The infusion fluid may be a sedative, analgesic, amnestic or other pharmaceutical agent (drug) for alleviating a patient's pain and anxiety before, during and/or after a medical or surgical procedure. In general the apparatus comprises a microprocessor-based controller that receives inputs from a plurality of physiological monitors attached to a patient. The system controller processes the data from the physiological monitors and based upon a fluid infusion algorithm delivers infusion fluid to a patient. The physiological monitors monitor the patient throughout the course of the procedure and depending upon the health of the patient, drug delivery may be adjusted to optimize the procedure while ensuring the patient's health and pain level are maintained.

  • Publication number: 20080293364
Abstract: A wireless data transmission system incorporates a process sensor providing an output for process monitoring data with a transmitter connected to the output of the sensor and transmitting the data in time gated intervals. A receiver receives the data from the transmitter and a determination is made if new data is received at a gated time interval. A processor connected to the receiver calculates process parameters based on the data received and a set of the calculated process parameters is stored. The processor estimates process parameters based on the stored set of calculated process parameters responsive to a signal from the determination that data packets have not been received at the gated interval. The process parameters front actual data, if present or from the estimates made by the processor are then output for process control. A counter responsive to the determination of lost data, provides an emergency stop signal upon reaching a predetermined number of counts.

  • Publication number: 20080208777
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for predictive analytics generally comprise one or more artificial agents and an agent factory. An artificial agent may be responsive to at least one of an internal data set and an external data set. Further, an artificial agent may produce a correlation data set relating an outcome data set and at least one of the internal data set and the external data set. • Patent number: 7407599
Abstract: The present invention relates to a carboxylic acid based antifreeze coolant formulation for heavy duty applications such as for diesel engines which may be used for inhibition and prevention erosion and corrosion of aluminum and the corrosion of other metals exposed to an aqueous liquid in automotive coolant systems. The formulation further inhibits mineral scale. It may be packaged as an ethylene glycol based additive for use in new engines or in a concentrated inhibition package as an additive as for reinhibition of used coolant. The combination of a mixture of ethylene or propylene glycol, a monobasic carboxylic organic acid, azoles, low levels of molybdates, a nitrite salt and/or nitrate salt and/or siloxane stabilized silicate, and combinations thereof, polyvinylpyrrolidone, provide a synergistic protective effect against the cavitation corrosion of aluminum in aqueous liquids reducing the corrosion rate and is effective at relatively low concentrations and varying pH ranges.

  • Patent number: 7349821
Abstract: A device and method for conversion of bi-directional signals using controlled dual value up/down counters uses a plurality of cascaded up/down counters chained together to alter the ratio of a maximum coefficient of N to N+1 for the first counter in the cascade of counters. The output count signal of each counter is connected to the clock signal input of the next counter. The signal to be converted is input to the first counter in the chain and each input pulse increments or decrements a count value for the counter until a maximum coefficient or zero is reached at which point a count pulse is output of the counter and it is then reset to zero or the maximum coefficient at the next input pulse depending on whether a direction input is high or low circuit.

  • Patent number: 7336756
Abstract: A signal converter is comprised of a plurality of counters (“macro-counters”). In turn, each of the macro-counters is comprised of a plurality of single-bit counters (“micro-counters”) that are adapted to receive configuration data in the form of bit fields. The configuration data is comprised of data corresponding to a plurality of coefficients and of data for grouping the micro-counters into the macro-counters. The coefficients are derived from an input signal/output signal ratio of the converter, and control the manner by which the macro-counters generate the output signal. Thus the converter can be programmed by an end-user in the field.
