  • Patent number: 7044940
Abstract: A storage container (1) for a suspension used for medical purposes, in particular for ultrasonically assisted treatment of periodontitis, dental cleaning or dental preparation, comprises a flexible pouch (2), the interior of which is accessible via a charging and discharging nozzle (5). Situated in the interior of the pouch (2) is a distance element (6), in which a groove system (8, 9, 10) is incorporated. The groove system communicates with the interior of the charging and discharging nozzle (5). When the pouch (2) of said storage container (1) is pressed flat during removal of the suspension it contains, the opposing sides (3, 4) of the pouch (3) are applied during the final phase of emptying against the distance element (6). The groove system (8, 9, 10) contained in the latter however remains clear and forms a path, via which even the last residues of the suspension may be reliably removed from the pouch (2).

  • Publication number: 20060093989
Abstract: Disclosed is a dental therapeutic device used for infiltrating and/or rinsing tissue or hollow spaces bordered by tissue, particularly tooth tissue or hollow spaces bordered by tooth tissue, with a therapeutic fluid. The inventive device comprises a storage container (2) for the therapeutic fluid, a hollow needle (42) for feeding the therapeutic fluid into the tissue, a pump (15, 43, 47) feeding the therapeutic fluid from the storage container (2) to the hollow needle (42), and a pump (15, 43, 47) sucking therapeutic fluid from the tissue via the hollow needle (42). All of said components are comprised in a hand-piece-type unit, whereby a very compact dental therapeutic device is created which is easy to handle for the dentist and requires no external units or only units that are generally part of a dentist's practice.

  • Patent number: 6997883
Abstract: The invention relates to a diagnostic apparatus with which diseased hard tissue, in particular carious dental tissue, can be examined through a small working channel, to see whether it can be made healthy again by remineralization. This diagnosis apparatus tightly (54) seals the working channel, produced in the tissue, from its environment, and places the cavity in the tissue under pressure, after which the pressurization is ended and a pressure drop is measured by means of a pressure measuring instrument (60). The speed of the drop in pressure is a measure of the extent of the changes to the diseased tissue. The invention also relates to a treatment device for supporting the remineralization or reinfiltration of diseased hard tissue and for preparing this, as well as to diagnosis and treatment agents and treatment substances.

  • Publication number: 20050074610
Abstract: A dispersion of pyrogenically produced cerium oxide, which does not contain any particles larger than 1 ?m, is produced by dispersing a pyrogenically produced cerium oxide in water by means of a dissolver, centrifuging it, separating the supernatant from the bottom product, and again dispersing the supernatant by means of ultrasound. The dispersion can be used for chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP).

  • Patent number: 6545390
Abstract: A device for generating high-frequency mechanical vibrations for dental purposes comprises a current detector (50) fitted in the supply line of a vibration generator (12). The output signal of the current detector (50) is transmitted to one of the inputs of a control circuit (74), which at its other input receives a supply current nominal value signal. The output of the control circuit (74) is connected to the control terminal of a controllable oscillator (42), which together with a power stage (46 to 48) prepares the supply current for the vibration generator (12). In this manner, a constant output amplitude of the vibration generator is obtained independent of the load coupled to said vibration generator at any given time.
