  • Patent number: 5210323
Abstract: In the process described for the preparation of alkoxylates having a narrow distribution of homologs by reaction of compounds containing at least one hydroxyl group with alkylene oxide, complex compounds of antimony pentahalide with a special Lewis base are used as the catalysts. Alkoxylates having a narrow distribution of homologs and good color quality are obtained at a high conversion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 28, 1992
Date of Patent: May 11, 1993
    Assignee: Hoechst Aktiengese Ilschaft
    Inventors: Ignaz Wimmer, Rainer Kupfer
  • Patent number: 5171877
Abstract: The urethanes described are synthesized from aliphatic fluoro alcohols, triisocyanate and a carboxylic acid. They are prepared by reaction of the aliphatic fluoro alcohol with the triisocyanate to give the fluoro alcohol/triisocyanate adduct and by reaction of this adduct with the carboxylic acid. The new urethanes are preferably used for the finishing of textiles for the purpose of achieving water, oil and soil repellency.

  • Patent number: 5114616
Abstract: The novel glycidyl ether addition products are obtained by esterification of a diol compound, selected from the group comprising linear oxyalkylates and other amine-free aliphatic diols, and an addition compound of polyether block polymers and glycidyl ethers with dicarboxylic acids. They are advantageously employed for demulsifying crude oil emulsions.
