  • Publication number: 20070073037
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a granulate with a low acetaldehyde content and improved processing properties from a high-viscosity polyester melt, wherein the polyester melt strand is fragmented under water at the highest possible temperature, the accompanying water is separated from the granulate with the least possible cooling of the granulate, the low-water granulate obtained in this way is passed after removal of the water directly into a dealdehydisation container and the granulate in the dealdehydisation container is treated with a flow of rinsing air, plus a device for carrying out this method.

  • Patent number: 6113415
Abstract: The invention concerns a connector assembly for connecting at least two plugs having contacts on their plug-in side to a common socket having corresponding counter contacts. The connector assembly includes at least a first and second plug having a guiding member and guiding receptacle for mating the plugs and inner and outer catching members for mating to a common socket. The inner catching members have enlarged portions which cause these members to be pushed into an unlockable position with respect to the socket when the plugs are mated together.

  • Patent number: 5906837
Abstract: A device for producing pressed articles with a main cylindrically-shaped elements and secondary helically-shaped element from powdered material, especially powdered metal, with a female mold and with at least one top punch, which is supported so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis, and at least one bottom punch, which is supported so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis. The top and bottom punches are movable axially relative to the female mold by means of motor drives and the top punch, of which there is at least one, is driven in rotation about its longitudinal axis to achieve a helical movement in addition to its axial drive the bottom punch, of which there is at least one, is also driven in rotation. Rotary motor drives of the punches are mechanically uncoupled from the drives for the axial movement of the punches and may be regulated separately by an electronic control.

  • Patent number: 5895286
Abstract: Prior art terminals with operating buttons and a contact member movable against the force of a spring are relatively bulky and complex. It is proposed to provide a part of a curved leaf spring as the contact member having at least one aperture fitted in such a way above the conductor guide that an edge of the aperture acts as the contact member. This design also permits the contacting of thin conductors.

  • Patent number: 5120973
Abstract: A method and device for inserting radioactive radiation sources into applicators and for withdrawing the radiation source and depositing them in at least one shielded loading and/or storage station. To remove a radiation source from the loading and/or storage station a traction wire with a coupling effective in the direction of traction is advanced via a fork and a switch into the loading and/or storage station, coupled with the radiation source and withdrawn as far as a stop where it is uncoupled and the traction wire is withdrawn through the fork. To introduce the radiation source into the applicator, on the other hand, a thrust wire having a coupling effective only in the direction of thrust is brought via the fork up to the radiation source and, carrying the radiation source with it, is advanced via the switch into the applicator and withdrawn again leaving the source in the applicator.

  • Patent number: 5047851
Abstract: A process and device for detecting and evaluating surface cracks in workpieces wherein a picture is produced of the surface of the workpiece by means of a video camera and said picture is digitized and is processed by means of a computer to produce a binary picture of any cracks present and a sorting report is triggered when a preselected threshold level is exceeded. In order to obtain a sorting signal that is independent of the absolute brightness of the original picture a blurred background picture is derived from the original picture levels that have been converted to digitized grey shade levels and subtracted from the original picture, the difference picture formed in this way giving the crack representation.
