  • Publication number: 20060209799
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a system for handling communications between an unlicensed mobile access (UMA) network controller (UNC) and a licensed wireless communication system. The systems of these embodiments include a serving general packet radio service support node (SGSN) or a mobile switching center (MSC) that is communicatively coupled to the UNC. In such systems the UNC and the SGSN communicate utilizing a subset of a protocol standard message set. The protocol standard message set includes messages for handing discovery and registration, circuit switching domain and packet switching domain signaling, and circuit switching based data and packet switching based data. The subset for the SGSN is for handling packet switched domain signals and packet switching based data. • Publication number: 20060107585
Abstract: The process generates energy from organic material utilizing microwaves. The waste from food item is dried and further heated under temperature control to convert it into a renewable source of energy. Enclosed in a glass chamber (2) it is then exposed to microwave energy. Apparatus comprises a microwave oven (1), a heat exchanger (3) and energy extraction systems (5) and (6). The microwave absorption creates an ionized hot air atmosphere of high-energy Plasma. This new process for hot plasma generates heat, pressure and electromotive energy, which can be converted by a heat exchanger; a microwave ignited internal-combustion engine or a Magneto-Hydrodynamic (MHD) system, to the useful form of mechanical or electrical energy. The process incorporates a method for plasma confinement to harness its energy. Suitable feedback-control (7) makes the process self-sustaining with net gain in the output energy. Energy efficiency of the process measures the nutritional value of food item used.

  • Patent number: 7035846
Abstract: A framework for answering Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) queries from previously cached queries includes a proxy server configured to receive client directory queries. The proxy server maintains a cache of data (entries) and semantic information associated with a query. In response to a query received from client, the proxy invokes a query containment procedure which uses the semantics of the incoming and stored queries to determine whether the query can be answered from cached queries. The proxy answers queries from the local cache when possible, and for other queries it sends the request to a directory server. The semantics of the new query and the resulting data (entries) are added to the cache. The method and apparatus can be used for positive conjunctive queries for answering equality, range and substring queries.

  • Publication number: 20050271008
Abstract: Methods and messages for performing assignment and activation of voice bearer channels for mobile stations (MSs) in an unlicensed mobile access network (UMAN). URR (UMA radio resource) channel activation messages are exchanged between an MS and a UMA network controller (UNC) operating in the UMAN to assign a voice bearer channel to the MS and verify the channel is available for uplink. The MS may access the UMAN via a wireless access point (AP) that is communicatively coupled to the UNC via an IP network. The URR channel activation messages are sent between the MS and the UNC using an Up interface comprising a set of layered protocols over an underlying IP transport.

  • Patent number: 6165688
Abstract: A metastable depassivation lithography process for fabricating microstructures on a surface which utilizes the energy contained in neutral metastable rare gas atoms to remove passivating atoms from selected areas of a surface. Removal of the passivating atoms in a pattern allows further chemical processing to add or remove material to the exposed areas. The neutral metastable rare gas atoms can be directed to the surface using atom optical techniques to effect a desired pattern of exposure by the atoms. Alternatively, a mask can be used to effect a desired pattern of exposure.
