Patent number: 8645075Abstract: The attached disclosure provides a systems approach based on mathematical modelling of the kinetics of essential biochemical pathways involved in organ homeostasis. When this in silico model is coupled with in-vitro and/or in-vivo measurements to quantify drug-induced perturbations, a powerful platform that allows accurate and mechanistic-level prediction of drug-induced organ injury can be generated. The method described in this disclosure demonstrates that several physiological situations can also be accurately modelled in addition to the effect of perturbations induced by drugs. It can also be used along with high-throughput “omics” data to generate testable hypotheses leading to informed decision-making in drug development.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2009Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Assignee: Strand Life Sciences PVT Ltd.Inventors: Kalyanasundaram Subramanian, Sowmya Raghavan, Anupama Rajan Bhat, Sonali Das, Jyoti Bajpai Dikshit, Rajeev Kumar, Narasimha Mandyam Krishnakumar, Nalini Rajeshwara, Rajesh Radhakrishnan, Srivatsan Raghunathan

Patent number: 8630824Abstract: An executable circuit design is used to generate waveforms, from which behaviors of the circuit are captured. The behaviors and various combinations thereof can then be saved in a database, along with descriptions and other metadata about them, thereby generating a behavioral index of the circuit design code. Behavioral indexing of circuit designs allows a user to maintain an indexed behavior database, track changes in behaviors as the circuit design's executable description evolves, and figure out how the executable description can be reused in different projects. When applied to digital design development, it facilities the current design and verification effort, as well as design reuse down the line.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2010Date of Patent: January 14, 2014Assignee: Jasper Design Automation, Inc.Inventors: Chung-Wah Norris Ip, Kathryn Drews Kranen, Rajeev Kumar Ranjan, Beth C. Isaksen, Karl Stefan Esbjörner, Craig Franklin Deaton

Patent number: 8620956Abstract: Described is a technology in which a set of objects represent educational entities of an educational model, with relationships between objects. For example, a course object instance may have a relationship with a task instance and a user instance (such as representing a student). Other objects may include user credentials objects, group objects, degree program objects, course plan objects, institution objects, school objects, and/or department objects. The set of objects may be pre-defined and maintained in a persistent storage; this pre-defined set may be extended with an extended object that has relationships with pre-defined objects. The educational entities of an object model may be maintained in rows of a table, with each row having a field that identifies which entity is represented by that row. The table is accessed to determine relationships between an instantiated object for an entity and at least one other instantiated object for another entity.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2009Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Lei Wang, Mohamed Rouatbi, Rajeev Kumar Mittal, Parul Ranjit Manek, Zubin Alexander, Kevin C. Publication number: 20130323767Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a methodology that identifies the underlying mechanisms that lead to hepatotoxicity. This is done by using the alterations in cellular metabolite profiles obtained before and after therapy/drug treatment in combination with a model of liver metabolism. Subsequently, by using a covariance matrix adaptation followed by evolutionary selection, it compares the drug-induced metabolite profiles obtained experimentally with those generated using the in silico model, automatically shortlists potential parameters whose alterations could have produced the drug-treated metabolite profile. Values of these parameters are estimated by formulating an optimal control problem to minimize the differences between the model-generated metabolite values and experimentally observed data. The estimated parameters are given as an input to the homeostatic liver model and simulations are carried out, thereby the results providing a mechanistic explanation for the development of toxicity.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2012Publication date: December 5, 2013Applicant: STRAND LIFE SCIENCES PRIVATE LIMITEDInventors: Kalyanasundaram Subramanian, Sonali Das, Rajeev Kumar, Sowmya Raghavan, Osman Shahi Shaik, Partha Pratim Chakrabarti, Narasimha Mandyam Krishnakumar, Nalini Rajeswara, Anupama Rajan Bhat

Publication number: 20130290827Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for integrating third party content with search engine homepages. Users indicate preferences for content to be presented in association with all of part of a search engine homepage such that, upon requesting presentation of the search engine homepage, the preferred content is presented. Generally, the preferred content is provided by a third-party content provider. User preferences may be indicated via a user interface control that permits selection of preferred content from a plurality of content options. Upon receiving the user preference, the search engine requests presentation of the preferred content from the third-party provider each time the user requests presentation of the search engine homepage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2012Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: MICROSOFT CORPORATIONInventors: JOSHUA EDWARD SMITH, ABHISHEK JHA, SARAH K.
