  • Patent number: 11118632
Abstract: A coulomb friction damped drive shaft may include an outer shaft defined by a longitudinal axis, a first tapered portion and a second tapered portion at opposite ends of the outer shaft; an inner shaft inserted through the outer shaft along the longitudinal axis and defined by a first uniform portion a second uniform portion adjacent to opposite ends of the inner shaft; a first tapered sleeve inserted between the first uniform portion and the first tapered portion; and a second tapered sleeve inserted between the second uniform portion and the second tapered portion. The first tapered sleeve may be biased along the longitudinal axis toward the second tapered sleeve to create a friction between the inner shaft and the outer shaft. The friction may act on a twisting motion of the inner shaft relative to the outer shaft to coulomb friction dampen oscillations in the inner shaft.

  • Patent number: 11116578
Abstract: Methods and system perform tool tracking during minimally invasive robotic surgery. Tool states are determined using triangulation techniques or a Bayesian filter from either or both non-endoscopically derived and endoscopically derived tool state information, or from either or both non-visually derived and visually derived tool state information. The non-endoscopically derived tool state information is derived from sensor data provided either by sensors associated with a mechanism for manipulating the tool, or sensors capable of detecting identifiable signals emanating or reflecting from the tool and indicative of its position, or external cameras viewing an end of the tool extending out of the body. The endoscopically derived tool state information is derived from image data provided by an endoscope inserted in the body so as to view the tool.

  • Publication number: 20210272220
Abstract: A power-distribution routing system of a power-transmission company receives a request to route electrical power to users through a power-grid infrastructure during a specified future period of time. The system retrieves time-stamped blockchain data that identifies past fluctuations in energy demand, service agreements between energy companies, and energy-production and demand-fulfilment histories of energy-generating sources like power plants. The system also retrieves extrinsic contextual and socioeconomic data from online sources and various business applications. An artificially intelligent cognitive framework uses a sliding-frame mechanism to infer patterns in the rate of change of user demand during past time periods similar to the period specified by the request. The system ranks each source by its demonstrated ability to satisfy the patterns of demand in consideration of the contextual data.

  • Patent number: 11087091
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and response generation system for providing contextual responses to user interaction. In an embodiment, input data related to user interaction, which may be received from a plurality of input channels in real-time, may be processed using processing models corresponding to each of the input channels for extracting interaction parameters. Thereafter, the interaction parameters may be combined for computing a contextual variable, which in turn may be analyzed to determine a context of the user interaction. Finally, responses corresponding to the context of the user interaction may be generated and provided to the user for completing the user interaction. In some embodiments, the method of present disclosure accurately detects context of the user interaction and provides meaningful contextual responses to the user interaction.

  • Publication number: 20210234727
Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for expediting routing convergence in EVPN with multihomed ethernet segment when one of the redundant devices loses connection to the ethernet segment. When a first redundant device receives EVPN auto discovery (AD) route advertising an ethernet segment from a second redundant device, it creates an entry for a forwarding table. The entry has, for an advertised MAC address, a local identifier of the ethernet segment (marked as active next hop) and the identifier of the second network device (marked as backup next hop). When a packet for that MAC address is received, the first redundant device routes the data using data from the entry. In particular, the first redundant device uses the local identifier of the ethernet segment as next hop when the ethernet segment link is active; and uses the identifier of the second network device as next hop when the ethernet segment is down.
