  • Publication number: 20240311032
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing a fast resynchronization of a mirrored aggregate of a distributed storage system using disk-level cloning are provided. According to one embodiment, responsive to a failure of a disk of a plex of the mirrored aggregate utilized by a high-availability (HA) pair of nodes of a distributed storage system, disk-level clones of the disks of a healthy plex may be created external to the distributed storage system and attached to the degraded HA partner node. After detection of the cloned disks by the degraded HA partner node, mirror protection may be efficiently re-established by assimilating the cloned disks within the failed plex and then resynchronizing the mirrored aggregate by performing a level-1 resync of the failed plex with the healthy plex based on a base file system snapshot of the healthy plex. In this manner, a more time-consuming level-0 resync may be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20240311754
Abstract: Various embodiments improve existing technologies by generating one or more user interface elements based at least in part on consumer demand of an item in various geographical regions. Such consumer demand can be computed in response to receiving an indication that a user needs to place an item in an inventory center. Some embodiments can use one or more machine learning models or other statistical models to predict consumer demand to select the particular inventory center. Some embodiments can additionally or alternatively rank each inventory center or recommend an inventory center based on the consumer demand and/or other factors, such as cost. All of this functionality not only improves upon the functionality of existing technologies, but improves the user experience and computing resource consumption relative to other technologies.

  • Publication number: 20240311451
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for data management are described. A server hosted by a storage node within a cluster of a data management system (DMS) may receive a request to access a file stored in a distributed file system. The request may be associated with a security identifier (SID). The server may transmit an indication of the SID to a shared repository accessible to the cluster. Accordingly, the server may receive an indication of a mapping between the SID and one or both of a user identifier (UID) or a group identifier (GID) associated with the SID. The server may transmit an indication of the file and the UID/GID to the distributed file system, which may compare the UID/GID to a list of authorized identifiers for the file. If the UID/GID is on the list of authorized identifiers, the distributed file system may execute the request accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20240307773
Abstract: Described herein is a technique to enhance the responsiveness of gameplay for a 3D gaming application while maintaining the ability to enqueue multiple frames for processing on the GPU. Each frame or a set of workloads within a frame is submitted to the GPU with predication, such that the indicated rendering and resource manipulation commands are not actually performed if the predication condition is enabled. A low latency command can be submitted to the GPU via a copy engine command queue. The command will cause the copy engine to enable or disable predication for command buffers in the command queue. When predication for queued command buffers is enabled, command buffers for workloads that are not related to the workload that is generated in response to the user input are bypassed. High priority command buffers that include workloads generated in response to user input can then be executed immediately.

  • Patent number: 12095770
Abstract: Example implementations relate to connecting an IoT device to a wireless network using Device Provisioning Protocol (DPP). An authentication server receives a DPP network access authorization request including a connector identifier from an Access Point (AP) in communication with the IoT device. The connector identifier is a hash of the public network access key of the IoT device. If the connector identifier is valid, the authentication server determines a configurable policy from a set of configurable policies that is applicable to the IoT device. The authentication server transmits network permissions defined in the configurable policy to the AP. The IoT device is connected to the wireless network by the AP based on the network permissions.

  • Patent number: 12095659
Abstract: A process for service chain instance pool sizing receives service requests for processing in a 5G network by a service function chain, of the 5G network, providing network function(s) to process the service requests. The method determines an average number of service requests to be processed, and determines a number of service chain instances to exist in a pool of service chain instances, of the service function chain, as a composite of (i) a number of instances to process service requests having arrived and making an initial relay through the service function chain and (ii) a number of instances to process service requests that were re-introduced after having previously arrived. The method additionally indicates the number of service chain instances to exist in the pool to a component responsible for controlling the number of service chain instances in the pool.
