  • Publication number: 20150325543
Abstract: In some embodiments, to increase the height-to-pitch ratio of a solder connection that connects different structures with one or more solder balls, only a portion of a solder ball's surface is melted when the connection is formed on one structure and/or when the connection is being attached to another structure. In some embodiments, non-solder balls are joined by an intermediate solder ball (140i). A solder connection may be surrounded by a solder locking layer (1210) and may be recessed in a hole (1230) in that layer. Other features are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150326519
Abstract: A discussion thread is associated with a master recipients list that is maintained at an author's computer or a server computer. The recipients list is revised as participants in the discussion are added to and/or removed from the discussion. An author is notified when target recipients do not match the master recipients list. When a participant is added to the discussion from an old discussion instance, a thread manager provides for the added participant to receive a more current discussion instance.

  • Publication number: 20150327148
Abstract: This application discloses methods for creating self-organizing networks implemented on heterogeneous mesh networks. The self-organizing networks can include a computing cloud component coupled to the heterogeneous mesh network. In the methods and computer-readable mediums disclosed herein, a processor determines if a user equipment (UE) should hand over its service from a base station to a multi-radio access technology (RAT) node, based on heuristics including one or more of: a distance traveled over a time T1, an average speed over a time T2, a destination stored in internal memory within the UE, a speed limit measurement for a nearby road, a possible direction in which the UE could travel, a signal strength measurement for a servicing base station, and a signal strength measurement for the multi-RAT node. A position profile may be used to predict a future location of the UE.

Abstract: An embodiment provides a circuit for testing an integrated circuit. The circuit includes an input converter that receives N scan inputs and generates M pseudo scan inputs, where M and N are integers. A scan compression architecture is coupled to the input converter and generates P pseudo scan outputs in response to the M pseudo scan inputs. An output converter is coupled to the scan compression architecture and generates Q scan outputs in response to the P pseudo scan outputs, wherein P and Q are integers. The input converter receives the N scan inputs at a first frequency and generates the M pseudo scan inputs at a second frequency and the output converter receives the P pseudo scan outputs at the second frequency and generates the Q scan outputs at the first frequency.

  • Patent number: 9185219
Abstract: A call handling platform receives a call placed by a caller, collects data points based on the caller's interaction with an interactive voice response module, and computes an experience score for the caller using the data points. The call handling platform compares the experience score to a predetermined first threshold that indicates a first level of caller satisfaction. The call handling platform determines whether an option is enabled for recording screen captures of a display screen coupled to a machine used by a human agent. Upon determining that the caller has a lower level of satisfaction than the first level of satisfaction, the call handling platform routes the call to a human agent. Based on determining that the option for recording screen captures is enabled, the call handling platform initiates recording of screen captures of a display screen coupled to a machine used by the human agent.

  • Patent number: 9185442
Abstract: A data communication architecture delivers a wide variety of content, including audio and video content, to consumers. The architecture employs channel bonding to deliver more bandwidth than any single communication channel can carry. In some implementations, the communication architecture communicates content according to an initial bonding configuration. The communication architecture may adjust the bonding configuration to adapt to bonding environment changes affecting the communication capabilities or requirements associated with transmitting the content.

  • Patent number: 9185050
Abstract: Methods and systems for bridging network packets transmitted over heterogeneous media channels are provided. According to one embodiment, a network device comprises network interfaces (netmods), including a first and second set operable to receive packets encapsulated within a first and second set of media transmissions, respectively, and each having a first and second framing media format, respectively. A single bridging domain is provided by a shared bridging application. A memory stores data structures for translating between the first and second framing media formats via an intermediate format. The netmods pass a received packet, through a switching fabric, to the bridging application, which determines a relay location for the packet and whether the relay location is among the other set of netmods. Responsive to an affirmative determination, the bridging application uses the translation data structures to translate the packet before relaying the packet to the relay location.

  • Patent number: 9182240
Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for providing information to represent a course traversed by a mobile device. In an embodiment, navigation logic of the mobile device determines context data other than any geodetic data that specifies a position of the mobile device. With such context data, the navigation logic determines a sequence of estimates each for a respective position of the device on a course traversed by the mobile device. In another embodiment, determining the sequence of estimates includes determining a first estimate of a first position of the mobile device independent of any geodetic data that specifies the first position. Course information representing such a determined sequence includes timestamp information for the first estimate.

  • Publication number: 20150319250
Abstract: Technologies for accelerated network virtualization include executing packet processing functions by a network virtualizer established in a provider partition of a computing device and offloading packet movement functions to a network interface controller of the computing device. In the illustrative embodiments, the network interface controller includes one or more tenant-facing ports, a provider-facing port, and an external network-facing port, which are used by the network interface controller to receive, send, and pass packets from, to, and between the various partitions of the computing device. To transmit a packet, the network virtualizer generates a provider header, and either the network virtualizer or the network interface controller encapsulates a packet received from the tenant partition with the provider header. To receive a packet, either the network virtualizer or the network interface controller strips a provider header from the received packet.

  • Publication number: 20150315108
Abstract: Disclosed are processes for the production of fluorinated olefins, preferably adapted to commercialization of CF3CF?CH2 (1234yf). Three steps may be used in preferred embodiments in which a feedstock such as CCl2?CClCH2Cl (which may be purchased or synthesized from 1,2,3-trichloropropane) is fluorinated (preferably with HF in gas-phase in the presence of a catalyst) to synthesize a compound such as CF3CCl?CH2, preferably in a 80-96% selectivity. The CF3CCl?CH2 is preferably converted to CF3CFClCH3 (244-isomer) using a SbCl5 as the catalyst which is then transformed selectively to 1234yf, preferably in a gas-phase catalytic reaction using activated carbon as the catalyst. For the first step, a mixture of Cr2O3 and FeCl3/C is preferably used as the catalyst to achieve high selectivity to CF3CCl?CH2 (96%). In the second step, SbCl5/C is preferably used as the selective catalyst for transforming 1233xf to 244-isomer, CF3CFClCH3.
