Abstract: It is provided an apparatus comprising interface circuitry, machine-readable instructions, and processing circuitry to execute the machine-readable instructions. The machine-readable instructions comprise instructions to receive a request of a virtual machine to access a resource of a network node, determine whether a number of available virtual functions associated to the resource falls below a predefined threshold and, if it is determined that the number of available virtual functions falls below the predefined threshold, emulate and/or para virtualize a physical function associated to the resource. The machine-readable instructions further comprise instructions to provide access to the resource via the emulated and/or para virtualized physical function for the virtual machine.

  • Publication number: 20240143459
Abstract: In response to a request to replicate resources from a primary region data center to a secondary region data center, an executable configuration file that describes the resources and their configuration is created utilizing information about the resources at the primary region data center. A correspondence table is also updated to include entries for to such resources. Utilizing the correspondence table, the executable configuration file is transformed to create a transformed executable configuration file that references the resources utilizing generic resource identifiers instead of primary region identifiers used within the primary region data center. The transformed executable configuration file is then executed at the secondary region data center to create replicated resources at the secondary region data center.

  • Publication number: 20240143215
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing a fast resynchronization of a mirrored aggregate of a distributed storage system using disk-level cloning are provided. According to one embodiment, responsive to a failure of a disk of a plex of the mirrored aggregate utilized by a high-availability (HA) pair of nodes of a distributed storage system, disk-level clones of the disks of the healthy plex may be created external to the distributed storage system and attached to the degraded HA partner node. After detection of the cloned disks by the degraded HA partner node, mirror protection may be efficiently re-established by assimilating the cloned disks within the failed plex and then resynchronizing the mirrored aggregate by performing a level-1 resync of the failed plex with the healthy plex based on a base file system snapshot of the healthy plex. In this manner, a more time-consuming level-0 resync may be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20240146047
Abstract: A system or method for monitoring an electric power lightning arrester including an arrester current sensor providing an arrester current measurement, and an arrester voltage sensor providing an arrester voltage measurement. The system detects a switching signature based on the arrester current measurement or the arrester voltage measurement distinguished from background noise and lightning signatures and computes a measured arrester impedance based on the arrester current and arrester voltage measurements. The system then compares the measured arrester impedance to a nominal or historical arrester impedance, determines that the arrester is faltering based on the comparison of the measured arrester impedance to the nominal or historical arrester impedance, and places an order for replacement of the arrester based on the determination that the arrester is faltering.
