  • Publication number: 20130034094
Abstract: An approach is provided in which a hypervisor provisions switch resources on a network interface card, which includes a virtual switch and a physical port. The hypervisor invokes a switch control module on a virtual machine, which provides control information to one or more of the switch resources. In turn, one or more of the switch resources utilize the control information to direct data packets between a source virtual machine and a destination virtual machine over one or more virtual networks that are independent of physical topology constraints of a physical network.

  • Patent number: 8359204
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method associating the freeform speech commands with one or more predefined commands from a set of predefined commands. The set of predefined commands are stored and alternate forms associated with each predefined command are retrieved from an external data source. The external data source receives the alternate forms associated with each predefined command from multiple sources so the alternate forms represent paraphrases of the predefined command. A representation including words from the predefined command and the alternate forms of the predefined command, such as a vector representation, is generated for each predefined command. A similarity value between received speech data and each representation of a predefined command is computed and the speech data is classified as the predefined command whose representation has the highest similarity value to the speech data.

  • Publication number: 20130018884
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying unsolicited or unwanted electronic communications, such as spam. The disclosed embodiments also encompass systems and methods for selecting content items from a content item database. Consistent with certain embodiments, computer-implemented systems and methods may use a clustering based statistical content matching anti-spam algorithm to identify and filter spam. Such a anti-spam algorithm may be implemented to determine a degree of similarity between an incoming e-mail with a collection of one or more spam e-mails stored in a database. If the degree of similarity exceeds a predetermined threshold, the incoming e-mail may be classified as spam. Further, in accordance with other embodiments, systems and methods may be provided to determine a degree of similarity between a query or search string from a user and content items stored in a database.

  • Patent number: 8355357
Abstract: An apparatus and method for an admission control for a service flow in a broadband wireless access communication system using a multi-hop relay scheme is provided. In a method for operating a relay station in a broadband wireless communication system using a multi-hope relay scheme, a request message requesting an admission control decision for a service flow is received from an upper node. It is determined whether a requested QoS parameter set included in the request message is supportable. If the requested QoS parameter set is supportable, the request message is forwarded to a subordinate relay station corresponding to a next hop in a data transmission path. If the requested QoS parameter set is unsupportable, a response message indicating the unsupportability of the requested QoS parameter set is transmitted to a base station.
