  • Patent number: 6820441
Abstract: Adsorption cooling apparatus with an intermittently heated adsorbent container (12) containing an adsorbent (19) that exothermically adsorbs a working medium during an adsorption phase and again desorbs at higher temperatures while heat is added during a subsequent desorption phase, and with a condenser (4) that leads condensed working medium through a connection line (10) into the evaporator (4) which is in turn connected with the adsorbent through a working medium vapor line (9), wherein the condenser (4) is coupled to a buffer reservoir (14) that buffers at least a part of the condensation heat of the working medium vapor and that also can again dissipate the stored heat into the surroundings even during the adsorption phase.

  • Patent number: 6812500
Abstract: The light-radiating semiconductor component has a radiation-emitting semiconductor body and a luminescence conversion element. The semiconductor body emits radiation in the ultraviolet, blue and/or green spectral region and the luminescence conversion element converts a portion of the radiation into radiation of a longer wavelength. This makes it possible to produce light-emitting diodes which radiate polychromatic light, in particular white light, with only a single light-emitting semiconductor body. A particularly preferred luminescence conversion dye is YAG:Ce.

  • Publication number: 20040155669
Abstract: A proximity switch which operates according to an inductive or capacitive action principle and contains a LC tuned circuit and a dynamically connected amplifier, and in which the approach of a suitable influencing element or article changes at least one oscillation parameter, the operating state of the amplifier being changed when the article does not reach a certain distance to the tuned circuit, the oscillation not however being interrupted with reaching the operating point. The proximity switch (1), likewise contains display elements (5) which are able to signal the presence of influence on the tuned circuit before the operating point or value of the amplifier is reached.

  • Patent number: 6729581
Abstract: A supporting arm of a passenger door of an aircraft, has a curved structure which forms hollow chambers and movably connects the passenger door to a frame on the fuselage. Receiving means one for the supporting arm for receiving connecting means which enable a movable connection on the one hand to the passenger door and a pivoting drive and on the other hand to the frame on the fuselage, so that the door is movable by means of the supporting arm on a linear-displacement path and a pivoting path. The structure of the supporting arm is formed from fiber composite, the structure-forming fiber composite being formed from individual structural elements. This fiber composite structure further improves the thermal insulation of the supporting arm and nevertheless achieves a further weight reduction of the supporting arm, while maintaining exacting structural safety requirements for the latter.

  • Publication number: 20030142792
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the calibration of a radiation sensor, in which method a first calibration takes place with external radiation x and an internal signal s of the radiation sensor, and in which later calibrations are carried out exclusively with the internal signal. This enables the calculation of an approximate value x*(t) for the quantity of radiation x(t) absorbed in a radiation sensor (10) while taking into account a behavior of the radiation sensor that changes in time. First the primary characteristic ft1(x) is measured at a first instant t1; this characteristic describes the dependency of an output signal o on the absorbed quantity of radiation x. At the same time the secondary characteristic gt2(s) is measured, which characteristic describes the dependency of the output signal o on an internal signal s. The signals s and x should together form an intermediate signal w that is further processed with a function D(w,t) that varies in time in order to form the output signal o.

  • Publication number: 20030076922
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the correction or compensation of individual differences between the conversion characteristics of the image sensors (11) and the processing units (12) of an X-ray detector which are connected thereto. It is assumed that a functional relationship in conformity with GW=Fi(Lij(&phgr;)) exists between the quantity of radiation (&phgr;) entering the detector and the grey value (GW) resulting therefrom for a pixel (j, i), where Lij describes the approximately linear behavior of the sensor arrangement (10) and Fi the non-linear behavior of the processing unit (12). For the inverse value Lij−1 a linear model function is used and for the inverse value Fi−1 a non-linear model function is used with parameters which can be calculated from calibration measurements with different radiation quantities (&phgr;k).

  • Publication number: 20030020019
Abstract: The invention relates to a radiation detector for converting electromagnetic radiation (15) into electric charge carriers. The invention also relates to an X-ray examination apparatus provided with such a radiation detector, and to a method of manufacturing a radiation detector. In order to achieve a small building height of the radiation detector while nevertheless satisfying the same requirements as regards the resetting of the converter arrangement (16, 18) by means of an illumination device (6), it is proposed to provide a supporting layer (8) underneath a glass plate (2a) with a photosensor arrangement (2b), which supporting layer on the one hand provides uniform distribution of the light incident from below and on the other hand imparts the necessary stability to the radiation detector.
