  • Publication number: 20080271518
Abstract: A gas sensor, in particular for determining the oxygen content in exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, having a housing, a sensor element having a multi-layer design which is situated in the housing, and connecting lines lead to the outside for contacting the sensor element. A contacting element of a connecting line penetrates a layer of the sensor element and part of an insulating element situated outside the sensor element. For contacting the sensor element, such a contact configuration makes it possible to directly contact the contacting element of the connecting line, which may be arranged as a contacting pin, to the printed conductor which is formed inside the sensor element.

  • Publication number: 20080208029
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a user-friendly monitoring system with improved measurement quality, which is suitable for home use. This object is achieved according to the invention by a garment (1) comprising at least one dry electrode (2, 3, 4) for use with a monitoring system for monitoring physiological parameters of a recipient, the electrode (2, 3, 4) having a working surface which is to be brought into contact with the recipient's skin, characterized in that the working surface is automatically positioned at a point of close skin contact with a natural sweat layer present, if the garment (1) is worn by the recipient. The basic principle underlying the invention is that the position of the electrodes (2, 3, 4) on the body has an impact on the acquired signal quality. Therefore, it is an idea of the invention to arrange dry electrodes in positions of the garment (1) where close body contact is automatically obtained and a natural sweat layer is present, if the garment is worn.

  • Publication number: 20080149958
Abstract: The light-radiating semiconductor component has a radiation-emitting semiconductor body and a luminescence conversion element. The semiconductor body emits radiation in the ultraviolet, blue and/or green spectral region and the luminescence conversion element converts a portion of the radiation into radiation of a longer wavelength. This makes it possible to produce light-emitting diodes which radiate polychromatic light, in particular white light, with only a single light-emitting semiconductor body. A particularly preferred luminescence conversion dye is YAG:Ce.

  • Publication number: 20080053067
Abstract: The invention concerns a procedure to ascertain a concentration of sooty particles in an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine or a depletion of an emission control system of the internal combustion engine due to the loading of sooty particles, whereby the sooty particle concentration in the exhaust gas system is determined by means of a collecting particle sensor, which emits a sensor signal and whereby the depletion of the emission control system due to the loading of sooty particles is determined from the sooty particle concentration. The task is thereby solved, in that the sensor signal is corrected by means of predetermined corrections with regard to a sensor temperature and/or an exhaust gas temperature and/or a flow velocity of the exhaust gas and/or a voltage applied at the particle sensor.
