  • Patent number: 6621037
Abstract: A welding material assembly is constructed and arranged to position a welding material in electrically conductive relation between exterior surface portions of first and second weldable members at a location where the first and second weldable members are to be joined. The welding material assembly includes at least one welding material member mounted on a flexible carrier sheet in a predetermined arrangement with each welding material member being constructed of an electrically conductive metallic welding material capable of melting when heated by application of an electrical current. Each welding material member is mounted on the sheet such that when the sheet is placed between the exterior surfaces of the first and second weldable members to be welded, each welding material member is electrically conductively disposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6592978
Abstract: A three part laminated material for use in making blister packages and a method of making such a material. The material is comprised of a central core layer of fluoro-polymer based sheet material to each side of which a separate polymer film is adhesively attached. These separate films may be symmetrical or asymmetrical as regards each other. In the preferred embodiment, each of the polymer films is polyvinyl chloride, although a variety of chemically different films may be used. The disclosed material provides a high moisture barrier, reduced package curl, a stable inter-laminar structure and outer surfaces which lend themselves well to bonding with other materials as well as to printing and coating.

  • Publication number: 20020022446
Abstract: A fish loading device for loading fish onto a fish processing machine is disclosed. The fish loading device comprises a pair of substantially parallel plates located on either side of a transport track that is used to carry the fish through the various processing stations in the processing machine. The fish is carried along the transport track on a transport saddle. The plates are spaced apart sufficiently to allow the transport saddle to pass between them. The fish is placed onto the plates, which are configured so as to hold the fish in a fixed position relative to the transport saddle. When the saddle passes through the region, it engages the body of the fish and carries it through the various processing stations. The fish loading device allows for consistent loading of the fish onto the saddle, resulting in increased efficiency, productivity and yield.

  • Patent number: 5150767
Abstract: An impact system features an integral stored gas inflation source augmented by an ejector which entrains ambient air to rapidly deploy an inflate a safety cushion. The cushion has a plurality of chambers and each chamber is interconnected to an adjacent chamber by valves connected in opposing directions. When a particular cushion chamber is impacted, gas in the impacted chamber is forced via the valve arrangement into an adjacent lower pressure chamber. Upon the impacting object being removed from the cushion, the valve arrangement permits a reverse flow of gas to equilibrate the pressure in the adjacent chambers whereby the system is ready for accepting a subsequent impact without the need for reinflating the cushion. The system is of a size and weight so as to be within the limits of portability by a minimum of using personnel without being otherwise assisted.

  • Patent number: 4681710
Abstract: A process for the preparation of sulfonated aromatic amines starting with the corresponding aromatic amine sulfate salt which employes a rotating reactor in which there is maintained a rapidly moving heated cascading bed of solid particles composed largely of the final product whose temperature is above or brought above the rearrangement temperature. The reactants are fed to the bed at such a rate that the cascading movement of the bed is unaffected. The heat imparted to the amino hydrogen sulfate within the bed by the surrounding particles orient the desired rearrangement to take place along with the vaporization and elimination of water.

  • Patent number: 4663135
Abstract: A process for removing oxides of nitrogen from a gas in which the molar ratio of NO to NO.sub.2 is greater than 1. Sufficient NO is oxidized by the reaction NO+2HNO.sub.3 =H.sub.2 O+3NO.sub.2 by a solution whose HNO.sub.3 concentration is maintained above about 20% to form a gas whose molar ratio of NO to NO.sub.2 is close to 1. Substantially equivalent amounts of NO and NO.sub.2 are absorbed by a solution whose pH is maintained below about 2 containing HNO.sub.3 and dissolved NH.sub.3. The absorbed oxides of nitrogen react with the dissolved NH.sub.3 at a temperature above about 50.degree. C. to form elemental nitrogen and water. The process can be carried out in several steps or in substantially one step.

  • Patent number: 4655415
Abstract: A helicopter flotation pack includes an inflatable flotation bladder secured to an intermediate structural member which includes means for attachment to a helicopter landing skid. The structural member cooperatively defines a sheltered chamber for inflation apparatus and also carries an environmentally protective cosmetic cover which advantageously directs the deployment of the flotation bladder during inflation. The nature of the interconnection between the inflation bladder and structural member is such that both in-flight stability and flotation load-bearing capacity of the flotation bladder are increased.

  • Patent number: 4379534
Abstract: A system for transferring cargo at sea by helicopter includes an automatily activated self inflatable apparatus for reducing the velocity of the cargo if jettisoned or inadvertently dropped into the sea and for keeping the cargo afloat until retrieval may be accomplished. The cargo is lifted by a support sling attachable to a helicopter suspension cargo hook and simultaneously connected to a second sling in parallel to the helicopter through the rapidly deployable retardation and floatation device. Release of the support sling causes the cargo to drop and initiate deployment and inflation of the ribs of the parachute thereby retarding the cargo's descend and providing buoyancy for its floatation.
