  • Publication number: 20190322818
Abstract: A method for preparing a “preblend” of nanostructured carbon, such as nanotubes, fullerenes, or graphene, and a particulate solid, such as polymer beads, carbon black, graphitic particles or glassy carbon involving wet-mixing and followed by optional drying to remove the liquid medium. The preblend may be in the form of a core-shell powder material with the nanostructured carbon as the shell on the particulate solid core. The preblend may provide particularly improved dispersion of single-walled nanotubes in ethylene-?-olefin elastomer compositions, resulting in improved reinforcement from the nanotubes. The improved elastomer compositions may show simultaneous improvement in both modulus and in elongation at break. The elastomer compositions may be formed into useful rubber articles.

  • Publication number: 20190324077
Abstract: A system for characterizing a semiconductor sample is disclosed. The system comprises a measurement subsystem, a data analysis subsystem, and a statistical analysis subsystem coupled to each other via an interconnection. The measurement subsystem excites a semiconductor sample by shining light on one or more points in the semiconductor sample to generate electron hole pairs, which creates a change in conductivity of the semiconductor sample. The measurement subsystem measures one or more voltage decay curves corresponding to the one or more points in the semiconductor sample based on the changes in conductivity, and transmits the measured voltage decay curves to the data analysis subsystem. The data analysis subsystem extracts one or more normalized decay curves from the transmitted measured voltage decay curves, which the data analysis subsystem then transmits to the statistical analysis subsystem. The statistical analysis subsystem analyzes the transmitted normalized decay curves.

  • Publication number: 20190327223
Abstract: An example system and method facilitates establishment of secure communications between software systems, e.g., a client computing device and one or more servers (e.g., a cloud) using Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) via strategic use of tokens. An example method for overcoming longstanding security loopholes and usability issues with conventional MFA methods includes efficiently securing registration code (e.g., via public key cryptography and tokens) and exchanged data (e.g., message payloads), in part by embedding a signed token (e.g., a JWT token signed by a private key of the server system) in a registration link used by a client system to communicate with one or more servers of a server system.

  • Publication number: 20190325072
Abstract: To provide isolated extensibility for webpages, thereby enabling webpages to provide additional functionality supported by instructions whose execution is independent of execution of the instructions of the webpage, a unified manifest is utilized which comprises information regarding each of the extensions that can extend the functionality of the webpage, and a common extensibility platform script is invoked that provides the setup functionality to support such isolated extensibility. The extensibility platform script can be utilized by each extension thereby centralizing the relevant extension instantiation functionality. To provide for a unified manifest, a manifest associated with one extension can be copied into a manifest associated with another extension if the first extension indicates that it is capable of extending the second extension, or if the first extension is actually invoked by the second extension.

  • Publication number: 20190325052
Abstract: An approach for implementing function semantic based partition-wise SQL execution and partition pruning in a data processing system is provided. The system receives a query directed to a range-partitioned table and determines if operation key(s) of the query include function(s) over the table partitioning key(s). If so, the system obtains a set of values corresponding to each partition by evaluating the function(s) on a low bound and/or a high bound table partitioning key value corresponding to the partition. The system may then compare the sets of values corresponding to different partitions and determine whether to aggregate results obtained by executing the query over the partitions based on the comparison. The system may also determine whether to prune any partitions from processing based on a set of correlations between the set of values for each partition and predicate(s) of the query including function(s) over the table partitioning key(s).
