  • Patent number: 7707361
Abstract: In one embodiment, a processor comprises a core configured to execute a data cache block write instruction and an interface unit coupled to the core and to an interconnect on which the processor is configured to communicate. The core is configured to transmit a request to the interface unit in response to the data cache block write instruction. If the request is speculative, the interface unit is configured to issue a first transaction on the interconnect. On the other hand, if the request is non-speculative, the interface unit is configured to issue a second transaction on the interconnect. The second transaction is different from the first transaction. For example, the second transaction may be an invalidate transaction and the first transaction may be a probe transaction. In some embodiments, the processor may be in a system including the interconnect and one or more caching agents.

  • Publication number: 20100097888
Abstract: The invention discloses a way to recover separated seismograms with reduced interference noise by processing vibroseis data recorded (or computer simulated) with multiple vibrators shaking simultaneously or nearly simultaneously (200). A preliminary estimate of the separated seismograms is used to obtain improved seismograms (201). The preliminary estimate is convolved with the vibrator signature and then used to update the seismogram. Primary criteria for performing the update include fitting the field data and satisfying typical criteria of noise-free seismograms (202). Alternative ways to update are disclosed, including signal extraction, modeled noise extraction, constrained optimization based separation, and penalized least-squares based separation. The method is particularly suited for removing noise caused by separating the combined record into separate records for each vibrator, and is advantageous where the number of sweeps is fewer than the number of vibrators (200).

  • Patent number: 7702512
Abstract: A user interface, and associated techniques, that permit a fast and efficient way of correcting speech recognition errors, or of diminishing their impact. The user may correct mistakes in a natural way, essentially by repeating the information that was incorrectly recognized previously. Such a mechanism closely approximates what human-to-human dialogue would be in similar circumstances. Such a system fully takes advantage of all the information provided by the user, and on its own estimates the quality of the recognition in order to determine the correct sequence of words in the fewest number of steps.

  • Patent number: 7702597
Abstract: Crop yield may be assessed and predicted using a piecewise linear regression method with break point and various weather and agricultural parameters, such as NDVI, surface parameters (soil moisture and surface temperature) and rainfall data. These parameters may help aid in estimating and predicting crop conditions. The overall crop production environment can include inherent sources of heterogeneity and their nonlinear behavior. A non-linear multivariate optimization method may be used to derive an empirical crop yield prediction equation. Quasi-Newton method may be used in optimization for minimizing inconsistencies and errors in yield prediction. Minimization of least square loss function through iterative convergence of pre-defined empirical equation can be based on piecewise linear regression method with break point. This non-linear method can achieve acceptable lower residual values with predicted values very close to the observed values.

  • Publication number: 20100095127
Abstract: A method, programmed medium and system are provided for enabling a user to choose a user-preferred encryption type from among a plurality of encryption types listed in a user's Kerberos configuration file. During the ticket granting process in a Kerberos system, a user is requested to select a preferred encryption type to be used in the Kerberos communication from among encryption types contained in the user's Kerberos configuration file. The user-selected encryption type is then implemented for use in encrypting a session ticket (as well as generating the session key of user requested encryption type) for use by the user machine in communicating securely with an Kerberized application server when being communicated by that particular user. Thus, the system allows different users to simultaneously communicate with the same Kerberized application server using a supported encryption type of the user's own choice.

  • Publication number: 20100092200
Abstract: A method creates a printing image charge on a photoreceptor printing region of a photoreceptor within a printing apparatus and, simultaneously with the creating of the printing image charge, charges source patches on the photoreceptor outside the photoreceptor printing region. The method then transfers developer material from a donor roll to the photoreceptor. The source patches cause developer material to be removed from areas of the donor roll outside a donor roll printing region to create developer material-depleted regions. The method then reloads the donor roll with developer material using a magnetic brush and evaluates a reload function of the donor roll by characteristics of developer material on target patches with developer material in areas of the non-printing region of the photoreceptor adjacent the target patches. The method then alters the printing image charge to maintain the reload function within a predetermined range.
