  • Patent number: 6623052
Abstract: A handle assembly is provided. The handle assembly includes a tray that has opposite sides and a shaft that is rotatable relative to the tray. Also included is a handle that is connected to the shaft. The handle rotates with the shaft relative to the tray, and is on one side of the tray with the shaft extending from an opposite side of the tray. A support member is connected to the shaft, and has a support arm on one end. An adjustable actuator is variably positionable on the support arm. The adjustable actuator has a latching mechanism, and is adjustable along the support arm to define a first range of adjustment of the latching mechanism. The adjustable actuator is reversible on the support arm to define a second range of adjustment of the latching mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20030110716
Abstract: A grab rail adapted to be mounted to a surface is provided. The grab rail includes an elongated rail that has a bore lying along a central axis. A wedge block is disposed in the bore of the elongated rail. The wedge block has an inclined face on one end that is inclined relative to the central axis. A support member is connected to the surface. The support member has an inclined face on one end that is contiguous with the inclined face of the wedge block. A fastener engages the wedge block. The fastener urges together the inclined face of the wedge block and the inclined face of the support member to slide the elongated rail in a non-axial direction relative to the support member to join the support member and the elongated rail.

  • Patent number: 6349577
Abstract: This invention provides a latch assembly in which the operation of a paddle-type recessed handle pivots an actuating member carried on a rear side of the latch assembly. As the latch assembly pivots, a contact member of the latch assembly engages and moves an operating member. As the operating member moves, a cylindrical keeper stud is rotated. One end of the keeper stud is adapted for engagement within a receiver mechanism and in a first locked position. Upon rotation of the keeper stud, the receiver and keeper are placed in a unlocked orientation whereby the receiving element may be disengaged from the keeper stud.

  • Patent number: 5944406
Abstract: A rotatable compartment light for vehicles is provided. A lens covering a light source is rotatably mounted to a panel of the vehicle. The lens defines at least two sections having different light passing characteristics. A first section is configured to pass light from the light source to form a spotlight. The lens is configured so that the spotlight may be directed to a desired area by rotating the lens. An adjusting mechanism is in operative communication with the lens and is configured to rotate the lens.
