Publication number: 20170243193Abstract: This disclosure describes a hybrid of blockchain with other information management systems to provide validation for documents, transaction state and performance against contracts. A blockchain document hybrid allows portions of versioned documents to be shared without revealing full document content. For transaction and contract state a confidential Shared Data Structure (SDS) is combined with a publicly viewable blockchain to record the terms of a trade transaction, starting from as early as a purchase order. Out of these building blocks we present designs for commerce systems that can automatically execute the flow of money based upon signals resulting from the flow of goods. Besides reducing processing costs through automation, these designs open up avenues for innovations such as a Data LC, Blockchain Based Obligation (BBO), Deep Tier Financing, and Cash Flow Scrips.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2016Publication date: August 24, 2017Inventors: Zaki N. Patent number: 9155106Abstract: Techniques to more efficiently transmit pilot and signaling on the uplink in an OFDM system. With subband multiplexing, M usable subbands in the system are partitioned into Q disjoint groups of subbands. Each subband group may be assigned to a different terminal for uplink pilot transmission. Multiple terminals may transmit simultaneously on their assigned subbands. The transmit power for the pilot may be scaled higher to attain the same total pilot energy even though S instead of M subbands are used for pilot transmission by each terminal. Pilot transmissions from the terminals are received, and a channel estimate is derived for each terminal based on the pilot received on the assigned subbands. The channel estimate comprises a response for additional subbands not included in the assigned group. Subband multiplexing may also be used for uplink signaling transmission.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2014Date of Patent: October 6, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Ranganathan Krishnan, Rajiv Vijayan, Tamer Adel Kadous

Patent number: 8667144Abstract: Aspects describe service discovery of wireless MDDI client-capable devices though interaction with an underlying bearer protocol. Service discovery can be performed when the underlying layer supports multicasting, when the underlying layer is wiMedia UWB MAC and/or UDP/IP. Service discovery can be initiated by a w-MDDI sender and/or a w-MDDI receiver. An optional mutual security association procedure can be conducted if both devices support security and security is necessary.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2008Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Dinesh Dharmaraju, Ranganathan Krishnan, Soham Sheth

Patent number: 8493955Abstract: Mechanism to mitigate signal interference in ultra wide band (UWB) networks based on spatial reuse of the signal spectrum. Efficient media access control (MAC) in wireless networks is challenging because wireless devices may be affected by signal interference during spatial multiplexing. Wireless ad-hop (multi-hop) networks exploit the limited system bandwidth available via spatial reuse to enhance aggregate throughput. Spatial reuse allows concurrent data exchanges, resulting in higher throughputs.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2007Date of Patent: July 23, 2013Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Saishankar Nandagopalan, Dinesh Dharmaraju, Ranganathan Krishnan
