  • Patent number: 11722961
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may obtain a discontinuous reception (DRX) short cadence value that corresponds to a number of Hertz (Hz). The UE may sleep as part of a DRX cycle. The UE may wake up, starting at a subframe, based at least in part on the DRX short cadence value and a subframe identifier of the subframe. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20230246750
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or a base station) may communicate (e.g., receive or transmit) a set of service data units (SDUs) of an application data unit (ADU). The device may be aware of the set of SDUs corresponding to the ADU based on an identifier in a header of the set of SDUs. The device may determine that an SDU of the ADU is absent and proactively transmit a signal based on identifying the absent SDU. Signaling ADU awareness between distributed units (DUs) and a centralized unit (CU) of a base station is described. The CU may indicate that a set of SDUs correspond to an ADU via a user plane interface. For example, a header associated with the interface may include one or more bits identifying the ADU in a payload corresponding to the header.

  • Patent number: 11716700
Abstract: A base station determines a window of time for arrival of uplink signals, wherein the window of time includes a start based on a first expected time of arrival for a first uplink signal from a first UE and an end based on a second expected time of arrival for a second uplink signal from a second UE. The base station detection detects a false base station, such as a L1 man-in-the-middle false base station, based on an uplink signal being received outside of the determined window of time for the arrival of uplink signals.

  • Publication number: 20230231788
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications entity, such as a user equipment (UE), a base station, a network core, or an application server, may identify a round-trip time (RTT) latency requirement that may pertain to a round-trip latency in wireless communications between the UE and the base station. The wireless communications entity may identify a one one-way directional delay budget that satisfies the RTT latency requirement for an application of an application server. The application server may be in communication with the UE via the base station. The wireless communications entity may modify a value of the one-way directional delay budget and transmit a message that is associated with the modified value of the one one-way directional delay budget.

  • Publication number: 20230224883
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) may communicate in a wireless communications system. The base station may select a first bandwidth part from a plurality of bandwidth parts, the first bandwidth part having a bandwidth size corresponding to a traffic burst size for application data traffic within a time period. The UE may determine the bandwidth size using one or more parameters and indicate the bandwidth size to the base station. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may determine the bandwidth size using the one or more parameters. The base station may transmit, to the UE, a control signal indicating the first band-width part having the bandwidth size. The base station may schedule transmission of the application data traffic using the first bandwidth part and communicate the application data traffic with the UE using the first bandwidth part.

  • Publication number: 20230224801
Abstract: Aspects relate to switching between different search space set groupings. A base station (BS) may send an indication to a user equipment (UE) to instruct the UE to switch from a first search space set grouping (SSSG) to a second SSSG. For example, the BS may send this indication after the BS transmits a first data burst to the UE. In some examples, the UE may then switch back to the first SSSG upon expiration of a timer. For example, the BS may configure the UE with a timer value (e.g., an absolute value, a relative value, or an indication thereof) that the UE may use to determine when to switch back to the first SSSG to receive a second data burst from the base station. In some examples, the UE may switch back to the first SSSG based on a discontinuous reception duration.

  • Publication number: 20230170976
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for beam selection and codebook learning techniques based on XR perception information. A UE may receive sensor information indicative of a direction of a current serving beam relative to the UE. The UE may be configured to communicate with a base station based on a BPL associated with the direction of the current serving beam. The UE may perform a measurement for the base station and the UE to communicate over the BPL based on the sensor information indicating that the direction of the current serving beam relative to the UE is different from a previous serving beam direction relative to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230171610
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), such as a UE associated with an extended reality (XR) device, may obtain frame data from one or more cameras associated with the UE. The UE may determine a path of a beam providing communication between the UE and a base station, determine a location of a base station in communication with the UE, or both, where the base station location may be relative to a location of the UE. The UE may identify, based on the frame data, the path of the beam, the base station location, the UE location, or a combination thereof, a physical blockage to the communication. The UE may perform beam management for the communication based on identifying the physical blockage, so as to mitigate the impact the physical blockage may have on the communications between the UE and the base station.
