  • Publication number: 20220266166
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for real-time dynamic optimization of crude distillation unit (CDU). The present invention makes use of a combination of CDU and plant data such as crude density, flow, temperature profile and pressure profile of column, other operating conditions, and column heat balance to calculate product yields and product properties. The present invention makes use of real-time CDU or plant measurements, and its non-linear time-dependent functions to represent change in feedstock (product) characteristics, and predict the optimal value of CDU input data to optimize the CDU, and product yields and product properties. This provides a robust optimized solution that significantly reduces the computational time, accounts for dynamic change in crude composition and the unsteady nature of the operation during crude transitions.

  • Patent number: 11422364
Abstract: Techniques for artifact mitigation in an optical system are disclosed. Light associated with a world object is received at the optical system, which is characterized by a world side and a user side. Light associated with a virtual image is projected onto an eyepiece of the optical system, causing a portion of the light associated with the virtual image to propagate toward the user side and light associated with an artifact image to propagate toward the world side. A dimmer of the optical system positioned between the world side and the eyepiece is adjusted to reduce an intensity of the light associated with the artifact image impinging on the dimmer and an intensity of the light associated with the world object impinging on the dimmer.

  • Patent number: 11416266
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for automating DevOps toolchains. A user registers with a platform provider through a user interface that provides a unified self-service portal. Subsequently, the user can login to a platform configuration system to access a user landing page and/or dashboard. The user can select DevOps platform tools to be installed and enter configuration information. When the user is satisfied with selected DevOps platform tools and entered configuration, the user can select a “confirm” user-interface control (e.g., a button). In response, the selected DevOps tools are installed (with a relatively high level of automation) as DevOps platform. The user can also change DevOps platforms through the user interface (also with a relatively high level of automation), including migrating, deleting, and upgrading DevOps tools.

  • Patent number: 11418208
Abstract: A method for light-to-digital conversion includes setting a time integrator circuit into a reference condition and starting to integrate charge from a sensor device for the duration of an integration time. An integration signal is generated and is indicative of the integrated charge. The integration signal is compared with an adjustable reference signal. A first count is generated when the comparison indicates that the integration signal has reached an integration range, wherein the integration range is defined by a low and a high voltage. A second count is generated when the comparison indicates that the integration signal has reached the adjustable reference signal. The adjustable reference signal is incremented in discrete steps when a second count has been generated. Then, the time integrator circuit is reset into the reference condition, when the comparison indicates that the integration signal has reached the integration range.

  • Patent number: 11411867
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) in a computing environments. In one example, a management service identifies a registration or import of a route target (RT) to communicate in a VRF and identifies a first unique identifier associated with the RT. The management service further identifies a second unique identifier associated with the VRF and compares the first unique identifier to the second unique identifier. When the unique identifiers match, the management service determines that intra-VRF encryption is required for the communication. In contrast, when the unique identifiers do not match, then the management service determine that inter-VRF encryption is required for the communication.

  • Patent number: 11397838
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system provide the ability to perform a drop test using a response surface. Inputs including a target safety factor (T-SF), a drop height, and a computer model, are acquired. An initial template is evaluated by computing a safety factor for a set of orientations, for each model point MP in the computer model across a set of times (t). A minimum safety factor is determined and a response surface for the model is generated. An actual safety factor SFm is generated by conducting a drop test simulation of the model based on a point having the minimum safety factor and a corresponding orientation. Consistency/validity of the actual safety factor is compared to the target safety factor and the model either passes or additional points may be added to the set of points and the process repeats based on an updated response surface.
