  • Publication number: 20240103742
Abstract: In order to lower the peak and average current through the channel (thereby lowering peak and average power consumption) during program-verify, which exhibits a word line dependency, the inventors propose to program dummy memory cells connected to a dummy word line before programming data memory cells connected to a data word line. The additional resistance in the NAND string introduced by the preprogrammed dummy memory cells will cause the peak current, and power consumption, to be lower. To address the word line dependency, the dummy memory cells connected to the dummy word line can be programmed to different threshold voltages based on which data word line is to be programmed. Thus, prior to programming data non-volatile memory cells connected to a particular data word line, the dummy memory cells are programmed to a threshold voltage that is chosen based on the position of the particular data word line.

  • Publication number: 20240107657
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a memory sub-system with isothermal cooling of components. A PCB assembly may be secured between a heat spreader and a heat sink that are thermally coupled. The heat sink radiates heat absorbed from both sides of the PCB assembly. By connecting the heat spreader to the heat sink, heat is more effectively transferred from the side of the PCB assembly not directly connected to the heat sink. The PCB assembly may be secured between a top enclosure and a bottom enclosure. The top enclosure and the bottom enclosure may be thermally coupled using a vapor chamber. The vapor chamber pumps heat from a higher-temperature side of the PCB assembly to a lower-temperature side of the PCB assembly. By using the vapor chamber to thermally couple the top and bottom enclosures, creation of hot spots is avoided.

  • Patent number: 11940639
Abstract: In some implementations, an optical device includes a one-way mirror formed by a polarization selective mirror and an absorptive polarizer. The absorptive polarizer has a transmission axis aligned with the transmission axis of the reflective polarizer. The one-way mirror may be provided on the world side of a head-mounted display system. Advantageously, the one-way mirror may reflect light from the world, which provides privacy and may improve the cosmetics of the display. In some implementations, the one-way mirror may include one or more of a depolarizer and a pair of opposing waveplates to improve alignment tolerances and reduce reflections to a viewer. In some implementations, the one-way mirror may form a compact integrated structure with a dimmer for reducing light transmitted to the viewer from the world.

  • Publication number: 20240094937
Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling concurrent and non-blocking replication object deletion during cross-region replications. In some embodiments, in a target file system, a target replication pipeline as part of a cross-region replication, and a deletion pipeline operate in parallel. The deletion pipeline deletes processed objects reaching the last pipeline stage of the target replication pipeline after each checkpoint in the target replication pipeline. In some embodiments, after a non-recoverable failure during the cross-region replication, the cross-region replication can be restarted from the beginning (i.e., fresh restart) without waiting for its unused objects in the Object Store to be deleted by utilizing a generation number associated with each object to delete the unused objects in a background process while allowing deleting processed objects as normal for the freshly restarted cross-region replication.
