  • Publication number: 20160021661
Abstract: The present disclosure, for example, relates to one or more techniques for scaling the bandwidth of a carrier. Available sub-channels of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band may be determined, and the available sub-channels may be included in the carrier. The available sub-channels may be adjacent or non-adjacent sub-channels. The bandwidth of the carrier may be determined according to which sub-channels are included in the carrier. In this way, the bandwidth of the carrier may be scaled according to the available sub-channels in the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band.

  • Publication number: 20150268316
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of performing magnetic resonance imaging with ultra-short echo time pulse sequences includes defining short T2 threshold limits for enhancement. A multi-echo ultra-short echo time response is acquired and a complex dataset is determined based on the multi-echo ultra-short echo time response. A plurality of phase components is identified from the complex dataset, wherein each phase component is associated with a T2 relaxation time within the short T2 threshold limits. A plurality of frequency components is also identified from the complex dataset, wherein each frequency component is associated with the T2 relaxation time within the short T2 threshold limits. Next, a magnitude dataset is derived from the complex dataset and a fitting algorithm is applied to the magnitude dataset to yield a plurality of magnitude components, wherein each magnitude component is associated with the T2 relaxation time within the short T2 threshold limits.

  • Publication number: 20150156638
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for wireless communication are described. A method may include receiving at a user equipment (UE) a number of allocated interlaces for an uplink transmission over a shared spectrum, each of which may include a plurality of non-contiguous resource blocks (RB) of the shared spectrum. In some cases, the number of allocated interlaces is unsupported by joint interlace precoding hardware of the UE and the allocated interlaces may be partitioned into subsets of interlaces which may be a size supported by the joint interlace precoding hardware. Reference signals may be generated for the RBs of the allocated interlaces according to a reference signal sequence based on an ordering of the RBs for the allocated interlaces within the shared spectrum.

  • Publication number: 20150135012
Abstract: In an example, network node failures may be predicted by extracting performance metrics for the network nodes from a plurality of data sources. A fail condition may be defined for the network nodes and input variables related to the fail condition for the network nodes may then be derived from the extracted performance metrics. A plurality of models may then be trained to predict the fail condition for the network nodes using a training set from the extracted performance metrics with at least one of the identified input variables. Each of the plurality of trained models may be validated using a validation set from the extracted performance metrics and may be rated according to predefined criteria. As a result, a highest rated model of the validated models may be selected to predict the fail condition for the network nodes.

  • Publication number: 20150103818
Abstract: Synchronization of communication events according to a global time base (GTB). Devices implementing the GTB may be configured to awaken and exchange discovery and service capability information over pre-scheduled channels at time points determined according to the GTB. The GTB may be correlated to Global Positioning System (GPS) system time. A global time server (GTS) is described for providing a local source of accurate clock time relative to the GTB. The GTS may aggregate multiple sources of absolute and/or relative time including GPS and WWAN, select the most accurate source for a mobile environment, track source state transitions, and manage clock drift. Global time clients (GTCs) may receive updates from the GTS and compute offsets for communication events relative to a local clock. The GTC may correct for transport errors from transmission of the updated global time value across modules or sub-components of the devices.

  • Publication number: 20150103715
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. In one method, a control format indicator value for a frame may be received over a physical carrier in a shared spectrum. Based on the control format indicator value, a number of subframes of the frame to be used by a base station for downlink transmissions over the physical carrier may be determined. The control format indicator value may indicate an end of transmission, if data is to be transmitted during the frame, a number of subframes to be used for transmission, or whether the current subframe is the final subframe used for transmission. In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may use the control format indicator value to determine a sleep schedule. Further, ACK/NACK transmissions by a UE may be scheduled based on the control format indicator value.

  • Patent number: 8817855
Abstract: An integrated circuit is incorporated into a communications system to enable a channel to achieve data rates that are at least double that which are currently achievable. The integrated circuit combines serial data signals using recovered clock and serial data signals in reference and non-reference clock domains. The integrated circuit rate converts recovered serial data in one of the clock domains, performs a phase alignment at the converted data rate, and returns the rate converted and phase-aligned serial data to the recovered data rate in response to the recovered clock from the remaining clock domain. Thereafter, the recovered and aligned serial data signals are combined. The phase alignment is monitored in circuitry that detects when a threshold offset is violated. When the threshold offset is violated a synchronization circuit is enabled.
