  • Publication number: 20220070836
Abstract: A base transmission signal and an auxiliary transmission signal may be used to (e.g., concurrently) improve a harvesting efficiency of an energy receiver while maintaining a prespecified performance level of an information receiver. An auxiliary transmission signal may be constructed. The construction of the auxiliary transmission signal may be signaled. An auxiliary transmission signal may be adapted. The adaptation of the auxiliary transmission signal may be signaled. An impact of auxiliary transmission signals on an information receiver's performance may be mitigated. One or more narrowband energy harvesting (EH) signals may be used, for example to provide a high peak to average power ratio (PARR) for EH devices (e.g., without significantly impacting overall transmitted signal PARR) characteristics. One or more narrowband auxiliary signals may be used, for example to enhance the PARR characteristics of an information signal sub-band.

  • Publication number: 20220038136
Abstract: A resonance magnetic coupling (RMC) communication may be enabled between devices. A device may use a discovery mechanism to transmit and exchange information. A device may use the discovery mechanism to establish a RMC communication channel and may determine its parameterization. A device using a RMC communication may transmit a discovery signal to determine channelization and/or properties of the RMC link. The discovery signal may be generated in the form of a beacon transmission. A signal sequence may be employed for a discovery signal. A device using a RMC communication may transmit a sequence of beacon or discovery signals to track characteristics of the RMC link. Beacon scheduling may be used for RMC communications, and the communication channel may not be static and may be a function of distance and orientation. A device using a RMC communication may sense the channel for potential beacon or sequence signals from other devices.

  • Publication number: 20210376915
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may identify a plurality of candidate satellite constellations. The WTRU may determine an elevation angle and/or an orbit associated with each of the plurality of candidate satellite constellations. The WTRU may select a satellite constellation from the plurality of candidate constellations for sell selection. The WTRU may identify a plurality of candidate beams associated with the selected satellite constellation. The WTRU may determine an RSRP/RSRQ for each of the plurality of candidate beams. The WTRU may determine a weighted ranking of the plurality of candidate beams. The WTRU may determine the weighted ranking using the determined RSRP/RSRQ, prevailing load intensities, elevation angle, dwelling duration, link switch probability, and/or a quality of service (QoS). The WTRU may select a beam from the plurality of candidate beams for cell selection. The WTRU may select the beam based on the weighted ranking.

  • Publication number: 20200413442
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a downlink communication from a network over a first interface transmitted to one or more WTRUs in a group of WTRUs. The WTRU may determine an access class of the WTRU based on a packet loss percentage of the downlink communication. The access class may be associated with a contention window for accessing a second interface. The WTRU may transmit packet loss information to the one or more WTRUs over the second interface in the contention window. The WTRU may receive packet loss feedback from the one or more WTRUs over the second interface. The WTRU may determine that the access class of the WTRU is a highest class of the one or more WTRUs. The WTRU may transmit a single groupcast negative acknowledgement (gNACK) to the network on behalf of the one or more WTRUs over the first interface.

Abstract: A method and communication system for routing calls. The system includes at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), at least one wireless base station, a land-line communication unit, and a land-line base unit. A call placed by the land-line communication unit is routed to the wireless base station via the WTRU when a database in the WTRU indicates that it is less costly than routing the call via the land-line base unit. • Publication number: 20060251007
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reliably transmitting data by transmitting a plurality of radio link control (RLC) unacknowledged mode (UM) protocol data units (PDUs) over at least one primary channel and at least one auxiliary channel. If at least one RLC UM PDU is missing from the data transmitted over the primary channel, the missing RLC UM PDU is obtained from the auxiliary channel after a predetermined delay. A service data unit (SDU) is completed by combining PDUs received over the primary channel with at least one missing PDU received over the auxiliary channel. The SDU is sent to an application layer. If the missing PDU cannot be obtained before a predetermined time period expires, the transmitted data is deleted. The RLC UM PDUs may be used for streaming multicast applications.
