  • Patent number: 5447242
Abstract: A book rack has two side walls and a rack extending between the side walls. The side walls each include a core made of a lightweight structural material, such as corrugated or honeycombed paperboard, a coating which coverers inner and outer surfaces of the core, and an edge bead covering an edge of the core. The rack comprises a single sheet of substantially transparent material formed generally as a wave defining a plurality of valleys. Each valley has a forward wall and a rear wall. The sheet is formed such that the a valley is positioned above and behind a preceding valley so that the books which are placed in the valleys will be easily visible.

  • Patent number: 5421270
Abstract: A base panel for use with building blocks has a top surface, edges defining the perimeter of said surface, a circumferential wall extending downwardly from the edges, and a plurality of bores defining a grid in said surface. The bores are square, each side of the bore having a dimension X. The distance between each bore is no greater than 1/2X. However, the distance between an outer edge of the bores and the edges of the panel is at least X so that a block which fits in the bores and spans the space between the bores, can not be positioned so that a portion of the block overhangs the panel. The panel removably rests on a support.

  • Patent number: 5396846
Abstract: An activity table is made from a plurality of stackable cots and a top surface which is placed on the uppermost cot. The activity table may clamp onto particular components of the formed cots. The top surface applies as a cover on to the top of the stacked cots, and this surface may also include walls to define a basin which may hold water, toys, or even an infant. The top surface of the cots may also include other indicia, such as to form a game board, or the like. The activity boards are removably connected to the sides of the table by means of clips or brackets which engage frame members on the cots. Additionally, the activity boards are constructed to clamp onto other supporting structures, such as a table, cart, rails or balusters of a staircase.

  • Patent number: 5277473
Abstract: An infant seat for use in a number of environments including shopping carts, pre-school nurseries, and other uses is disclosed. When used with shopping carts, the infant seat includes a contoured bucket seat which has a substantial portion that is supported within the confines of a shopping cart with an infant positioned to face a user of the shopping cart. The contoured bucket seat is capable of being pivoted substantially outside of the confines of the shopping cart to facilitate nesting of adjacent shopping carts within the respective confines of each other. When used in a pre-school nursery environment, the infant seat is adapted to be mounted on a supporting structure. In other environments, the infant seat may be used by itself. The contoured bucket seat forming the infant seat is integrally formed from a closedcell flex foam material which provides substantial strength and durability while also being soft enough to enable an infant to be comfortably positioned within the contoured bucket seat.

  • Patent number: 5003649
Abstract: A nestable cot (C1) has a web (3) of material on which an occupant of the cot can lay. The web is attached to a frame (F) which includes a plurality of rods (R1-R4) one of which extends along each side of the web. End connectors (5) are provided for connecting respective ends of adjacent rods to interconnect the rods and complete the frame. Each end connector includes an elongate housing (7) having an opening (25, 27) at each end in which respective ends of adjacent rods are received. The cot is supported in an elevated position off the ground by a pedestal (33) formed intermediate the length of the housing. The pedestal projects inwardly from an inner face (19) of the housing and extends downwardly a distance sufficient to elevate the web of material off the ground. A pad (49) is attachable to the bottom of the pedestal.
