  • Publication number: 20070143118
Abstract: An apparatus and method for lossless audio compression/decompression through entropy coding are provided. The apparatus comprises a buffer, a time-axis predictor, and a bit-allocation entropy coder/decoder, wherein the time-axis predictor is capable of subtracting the predicted value of a current input signal value from its original value, thereby generating a predicted error signal. The predicted error signal is then input into the bit-allocation entropy decoder in accordance with a coding guideline, and in turn is coded into data blocks with different lengths. Further, the data blocks after entropy coding comprise a 32-bit header and the real data following the header, wherein the real data is substantially a discrepancy between the prediction error of the data and the minimum value of each data block.

  • Publication number: 20070102815
Abstract: The present invention provides a simplified process end flow for a flip chip device. This process flow, beginning with the deposition of a final metal layer for the IC, also includes the deposition of the UBM layer on top of the metal layer. The UBM layer and IC final metal layer are simultaneously patterned. This ensures alignment between the IC final metal layer and the UBM layer patterning and reduces processing steps. Such a process flow may eliminate the need for a second passivation deposition and patterning and the process of individually patterning the final metal layer.

  • Patent number: 6797090
Abstract: A production method of multi-layer information record carriers that involves forming a signal duplication layer on a substrate that contains signals, then replacing a metallic stamping plate with the substrate that comprises the signal duplication layer for manufacturing a signal layer of high molecular materials. After the signal layer has been subjected to curing by exposure to ultra violet light, the signal layer is separated from the signal duplication layer because of the difference between the adhesive forces of the different materials. Multi-layer information record carriers can be manufactured by repeating the manufacturing process. Since the manufacturing process of the invention is simple and speedy, it facilitates the creation of automated facilities for mass production.

  • Publication number: 20040085950
Abstract: The specification discloses a fluorescent multi-layer recording medium containing porphyrin and the method for manufacturing it. The porphyrin is used to make the recording layer of the fluorescent multi-layer recording medium. A laser beam with a wavelength smaller than 500 nm is used as the light source. When a short-wavelength laser excites the recording layer containing porphyrin, it instantaneously emits red fluorescent light with a wavelength greater than 600 nm. A device can read data signals by detecting the intensity of such fluorescence.

  • Patent number: 6599385
Abstract: A manufacturing method of a multi-layer optical information record carrier, which has a plurality of layers of reflecting surfaces with pits for recording information. According to the method, a reflective layer is first coated on a stamper with a pit pattern. A radiation-setting adhesive polymer resin is then applied on a substrate with another pit pattern and coated with a partial reflective layer. The substrate and the stamper are combined together and the resin is cured by ultraviolet light. After peeling off the stamper, two reflective layers are formed on the substrate. Finally, two of the substrates are adhered together using polymer resin and one obtains a multi-layer optical information record carrier with dual information layers on both sides.
