  • Publication number: 20170182302
Abstract: An ultrasound catheter with a lumen for fluid delivery and fluid evacuation, and an ultrasound source is used for the treatment of intracerebral or intraventricular hemorrhages. After the catheter is inserted into a blood clot, a lytic drug can be delivered to the blood clot via the lumen while applying ultrasonic energy to the treatment site. As the blood clot is dissolved, the liquefied blood clot can be removed by evacuation through the lumen.

  • Patent number: 9358007
Abstract: Tissue fasteners carried on a tissue piercing deployment wire fasten tissue layers of a mammalian body together include a first member, a second member, and a connecting member extending between the first and second members. One of the first and second members has a configuration alterable by a deployment wire to permit release of the fastener from the deployment wire after deployment and without causing excessive tissue trauma.

  • Publication number: 20160030725
Abstract: An ultrasound catheter with a lumen for fluid delivery and/or fluid evacuation, and ultrasound radiating elements is used for the delivery of therapeutic compounds to a target location. After the catheter is inserted into a cavity, a therapeutic compound can be delivered to the target location via selective activation of the ultrasound radiating elements. Selective activation of the ultrasound radiating elements can be used to cause fluid flow in a direction proximal and/or distal the catheter. Moreover, selective activating can be used to maintain fluid between certain of the ultrasound radiating elements.

  • Patent number: 8961540
Abstract: A tissue fastener assembly delivers a fastener for deployment. The assembly includes a fastener including a first member, a second member, the first and second members having first and second ends, and a flexible connecting member fixed to each of the first and second members intermediate the first and second ends and extending between the first and second members. The first member has a longitudinal axis and a through channel along the axis. The assembly further includes a deployment wire slidingly received within the through channel of the first member that pierces into the tissue and guides the first member through the tissue, a guide structure defining a lumen that receives the fastener and deployment wire and guides the deployment wire and fastener to the tissue, and a fastener configuration structure that orientates the second member in a predetermined position relative to the first member within the lumen for dependable deployment.

  • Publication number: 20140128734
Abstract: An ultrasound catheter system can be configured to provide therapeutic ultrasound and imaging. An ultrasound catheter system can comprise a catheter having a distal portion. In several embodiments, a first ultrasonic element can be disposed in the distal portion of the catheter and can be configured to emit a first ultrasonic energy to enhance delivery of a therapeutic compound. In some embodiments, a second ultrasonic element can be disposed in the distal portion of the catheter and can be configured to convert a second ultrasonic energy that is reflected from an imaging site into an electrical signal.
