  • Publication number: 20030182322
Abstract: In a system and method for updating a remote replicated destination file system snapshot with changes in a source file system snapshot, the snapshot being associated with a qtree (or other sub-organization of the file system volume), a qtree metadata file on the destination in provided. The qtree metadata file resides, in the destination volume, and outside the qtree structure. The metadata file stores state information with respect to each qtree. This metadata file resides at a known location in the destination volume. The metadata file can include a plurality of fixed length records having respective fields for storing various information including qtree-specific information, and can be part of a hidden metadata directory.

  • Publication number: 20030182537
Abstract: A method of handling instructions in a load/store unit of a processor by dispatching instructions to the load/store unit, filling all physical entries of a reorder queue with tags corresponding to the instructions, and further dispatching one or more additional instructions to the load/store unit while all of the physical entries in the reorder queue are still full, i.e., still contain tags for uncompleted instructions. The invention may be implemented in either a load reorder queue or a store reorder queue. Multiple logical instruction tags are assigned in a count greater than the number of physical entries in the reorder queue. Of the multiple logical instruction tags assigned to a single one of the physical entries in the reorder queue, only the tag for the oldest instruction is allowed to execute. At least one virtual bit (VT) is provided to tag allocations for the load/store unit. This VT bit is flipped when a corresponding tag allocation wraps.

  • Publication number: 20030178932
Abstract: The invention relates to a cathode-ray tube having funnel sealed at one end to a faceplate panel with a viewing screen on an interior surface thereof, the funnel and the faceplate panel form an evacuated envelope, and a mask frame assembly supported within the envelope and in proximity to the screen. The cathode-ray tube includes a knee action circuit connector which electrically connects the internal conductive coating which is supported on an inside surface of the funnel. The knee action circuit connector is disposed between the exterior surface of the magnetic shield and the inside surface of the funnel and extends from the magnetic shield to form a curved first contact portion resiliently engaging the conductive coating of the funnel and a second contact portion extending from the curved portion and urged inwardly against the exterior surface of the internal magnetic shield thereby making electrical contact between the conductive coating and the internal magnetic shield.

  • Publication number: 20030182312
Abstract: In a system and method for updating a remote replicated destination file system snapshot with changes in a source file system snapshot, users and processes are redirected to a local exported snapshot of the replicated snapshot on the active file system on the destination before beginning the next update of the active file system's replicated snapshot. In this manner, an unstable replicated snapshot is not accessed. Indirection is introduced into inode lookup at the destination as the destination's active file system is being updated. The indirection can be based upon a snapshot ID that conforms to a latest exported snapshot ID.

  • Publication number: 20030179631
Abstract: A column redundancy architecture for arrayed parallel processor devices is disclosed. In particular, daisy chained communication between processing elements is preserved after defective memory columns and their associated processing elements are disabled, by setting a bypass circuit within the processing element to be disabled. An address remapping circuit ensures that spare memory columns and associated processing elements replacing the defective memory columns and processing elements can be addressed in a linear column order. The column redundancy architecture is flexible as it permits replacement of arbitrary numbers of series adjacent processing elements as well as non adjacent processing elements with a minimal impact on device performance.

  • Publication number: 20030182616
Abstract: A method of digital audio broadcasting comprises the steps of providing a plurality of bits of digital information to be transmitted, forward error correcting the bits of digital information using a combination of pragmatic trellis code modulation and complementary punctured code, and transmitting the bits of digital information. The step of forward error correcting the bits of digital information can comprise the steps of representing the bits as independently coded in-phase and quadrature signals, applying a first error correcting code to the in-phase signals, and applying a second error correcting code to the quadrature signals. The bits of digital information can be arranged in a plurality of partitions of code, wherein first and second ones of the partitions do not overlap, a third one of the partitions overlaps a first portion of the first and second partitions, and a fourth one of the partitions overlaps a second portion of the first and second partitions.

  • Publication number: 20030177674
Abstract: A system and method for providing a token with a complimentary coupon for distribution to patrons of different entities and events. A small and relatively inexpensive complimentary item may be mass produced for mass distribution to patrons or prospective patrons of different entities or events. The comp items may serve as an advertising or promotional tool as well. Each comp item, however, will include a removable comp coupon which will indicate a more valuable gift than the comp item itself. Furthermore, the comp item includes identifying marks and logos so that the patron or prospective patron will have an immediate remembrance or indication of the provider of the comp item. Additionally, the comp coupon is provided on the comp item in a tamper or pilfer resistant manner so that it is not easily removed yet removable by a patron who receives the comp item.

  • Publication number: 20030178228
Abstract: The design methods described enable three-dimensional integrated circuit systems in which all of the dies, in a vertically bonded stack of dies, are identical. Only one mask set and wafer type is required since a single circuit design is produced for one die in the stack and reused for all the dies with little or no modification. The system scales directly as the level of stacking is increased while incurring no extra design effort, beyond that required for the initial design.

  • Publication number: 20030182253
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for restoring a single file from a snapshot without the need to copy every individual block or inode from the snapshot. A file restore process duplicates the inode of a file within the active file system and performs a reconciliation process between the blocks of the twin inode and the snapshot inode. If the file does not exist within the active file system, a new buffer tree is created that points to the data blocks stored in the snapshot.

  • Publication number: 20030181548
Abstract: A method for making a polymeric blast media, and a product of this method. The first step involves blending a melamine compound with a cellulosic material and compression molding said first blend to produce a compression molded first blend. This first blend is then cooled and then ground. In the next step of this method, a urea compound is blended with a nano-clay material to produce a second blend and compression molded. This compression molded second blend is then ground to produce a particulate second blend. The particulate first blend is then blended with the particulate second blend. A blast media product of this method is also disclosed.
