Abstract: A method and system for a MEMS device is disclosed. The MEMS device includes a free layer, with a first portion and a second portion. The MEMS device also includes a underlying substrate, the free layer movably positioned relative to the underlying substrate. The first portion and second portion of the free layer are coupled through at least one stem. A sense material is disposed over portions of the second portion of the free layer. Stress in the sense material and second portion of the free layer does not cause substantial deflection of the first portion.

Abstract: Improved electric field (steered-electron electric-field, or SEEF) sensors and methods of manufacturing the same are provided. The SEEF sensors described herein may have increased sensitivity to low-frequency electric fields while being smaller than previously known sensors, and may allow for low-power electric field detection. The invention described herein allows for sensitive, long-term electric field monitoring for applications ranging from personnel detection to underground facility monitoring, as well as extraordinarily small vector sensing (full Poynting vector) for compact direction-finding of emitters of interest. Exemplary electric field sensors may accurately sense, measure, characterize and/or transmit electric field data over a wide frequency range. Importantly, such sensing, measuring, and/or characterizing do not require any physical or resistive contact between the sensor and a source of an electric field.

Upon receiving a document from a transaction for storage, the system may store the metadata associated with that document, instead of storing the entire document as a high resolution image file. Using the template, in combination with the metadata, the system may recreate the image as a system generated image for user recall and reconciliation.

Abstract: A MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) structure comprises a MEMS wafer. A MEMS wafer includes a cap with cavities bonded to a structural layer through a dielectric layer disposed between the cap and the structural layer. Unique configurations of MEMS devices and methods of providing such are set forth which provide for, in part, creating rounded, scalloped or chamfered MEMS profiles by shaping the etch mask photoresist reflow, by using a multi-step deep reactive ion etch (DRIE) with different etch characteristics, or by etching after DRIE.

Abstract: A duplicate detection system is provided for analyzing and processing documents received at one or more capture sites. A physical document may be electronically captured at a capture site and subsequently transmitted to a regional or central processing system. The regional or central processing system may receive capture documents from multiple capture sites. The processing system may analyze the captured documents to identify and flag false-positives prior to performing duplicate detection. Duplicate detection may be performed in accordance with predefined rules associated with false-positive flags. Once duplicate detection is complete, suspected duplicates may undergo manual review while non-duplicates are released for posting or dispatching.

Abstract: In an integrated MEMS device, moving silicon parts with smooth surfaces can stick together if they come into contact. By roughening at least one smooth surface, the effective area of contact, and therefore surface adhesion energy, is reduced and hence the sticking force is reduced. The roughening of a surface can be provided by etching the smooth surfaces in gas, plasma, or liquid with locally non-uniform etch rate. Various etch chemistries and conditions lead to various surface roughness.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems, methods and computer program products for providing image retrieval based on transaction identification. An exemplary apparatus is configured to: capture an image of a document. The document is typically associated with a transaction ID. Upon capturing the document image the system may process the image of the document to collect document information, and subsequently store the document information. The system may later receive a request for the document information that is similarly associated with the transaction ID. This document information is retrieved based at least partially on the request. An activity log may be additionally created which comprises a record of one or more request associated with the transaction ID.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include systems, methods, and computer-program products that provide for a system to receive information related to check transaction based on the location of the user. In one embodiment of the invention, the computer-implemented method determines a location of a check transaction and stores the location in an archive in association with the check transaction. The method then determines a location of a user and determines a list of check transactions associated with the location of the user. In some embodiments, the method provides the list of check transactions to the user. The method may also provide offers or recommendations to the user, such as an offer to establish a direct transfer instead of using a check in the future. The user and/or the provider of the method may also broaden or narrow the search results based on characteristics of the transaction.
