  • Patent number: 10974857
Abstract: A method for creating an opening in a sheath, made of stretch film, that retains a goods stack arranged on a pallet. The pallet comprising an upper-side deck surface as support for the goods stack and lower-side support feet. The sheath engages under the support feet arranged in the region of the four outer edges of the pallet. At least one opening is in the sheath between two support feet . At least one opening is generated such that the sheath is first heated, the heated sheath is retracted from the pallet and then, still in the heated state, displaced upward. The upwardly displaced sheath is secured in its upwardly displaced position by cooling. The invention also relates to a shaping apparatus, and additionally to at least one heating device for carrying out the method.

  • Publication number: 20200331649
Abstract: A method for creating at least one clearance in a sheathing consists of shrink film and secures a stack of items arranged on a pallet. The pallet has a top standing surface for the stack of items and a plurality of spaced bottom legs forming leg clearances. The sheathing engages under the legs in the region of the four outer edges of the pallet. At least one clearance is introduced into the sheathing region located between two legs. At least one clearance is intended to be created such that the sheathing region is first of all pulled away from the pallet in the still-hot state and is subsequently displaced upwards in the still-hot state, wherein the upwardly displaced sheathing region is then fixed in its upwardly displaced position by cooling. The invention also relates to a shaping apparatus for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 10538354
Abstract: An object is first wrapped with a strip of thermoplastic film such that upper edges of the strip project upward past a top face of the object and fold inward onto outer edge regions of the top face of the object. Then a cover sheet is laid on the top face over the folded-in edges of the strip with outer edges of the cover sheet projecting outward past and hanging down around the wrapped object outside the film strip. A heated plate is then pressed down against the cover sheet and hot air is blown against the strip on the side faces so as to shrink the strip against the side faces and such that the hot air rises and welds the outer cover-sheet edges sheet to the strip around upper regions of the side faces.

  • Publication number: 20170253359
Abstract: The invention relates to a shrinking a heat-shrink film around palletized goods. The heat-shrink film projects beyond the top edge of the goods stack. Firstly the heat-shrink film is shrunk in the region of a first lateral surface sub-region of the four lateral surface sub-regions of the goods stack. The shrinkage direction is from bottom to top and then the shrinkage direction is changed 90°. In a further step either, the shrinkage direction is changed a further 90°, the heat-shrink film is shrunk from top to bottom in the region of that lateral surface sub-region of the goods stack, or, the shrinkage direction is changed a further 90°, and the heat-shrink film is preheated from top to bottom in the region of that lateral surface sub-region which is located oppositely from the first lateral surface sub-region, and is then shrunk in the opposite direction from bottom to top.

  • Publication number: 20150329290
Abstract: A system for transporting pallets with stacked items, such as paper or cardboard, comprises at least two supply lines, which run in a transport direction and the end regions are laterally next to each other. Each group of stacks has at least two stacks arranged next to one another transversely with respect to the transport direction. The pallets are a small distance from one another. A transport device is provided which is movable laterally to the end regions for taking delivery of the entire group from said supply line. A transfer station comprises supply, hoisting and removal devices. The transport device is movable laterally for transferring the entire group to the supply device. The hoisting device transfers either a stack of items of one group or simultaneously a plurality of stacks of items from the supply device to the removal device. The removal device comprises two independently drivable conveyor belts.

  • Patent number: 9003744
Abstract: An apparatus for packaging a load with film from a film supply has a first wrapping device that forms from the fed film a first film curtain that can be attached to all walls of the load. A folding device in the first wrapping device can fold a film section of the film fed from the film supply such that, after wrapping the load with the first film curtain, the film is attached to the side walls in a lower region of the side walls of the load in a double-layer manner according to the width of the folded film section. A second wrapping device forms from the fed film a second film curtain that the second wrapping device also attaches to the upper wall, to two side walls and to the bottom wall of the load.

  • Patent number: 8875480
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for drawing a tubular film (1) over a stack of goods (2), wherein the tubular film is first gathered on a gathering device (R/Ü). The gathered tubular film is then drawn over the stack of goods using a covering device, in that the covering device is moved along the stack of goods and the tubular film is thereby ungathered. After reaching an end region of the stack of goods, the covering device is moved along a segment of the stack of goods (?) opposite the covering direction, so that a first tubular film segment (15) is laid on the tubular film already contacting the stack of goods. The covering device is then moved along at least part of the segment of the stack of goods in the covering direction again, so that a second tubular film segment (16) is laid on the first tubular film segment.

  • Patent number: 8684658
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for aligning an item that can be deformed easily, at least in the region of the outer lower edge. The apparatus has at least one aligning device that can be displaced in the direction of the item, and the transport substrate upon which the item is resting, in order to align the item on the transport substrate. For damage-free alignment of the item projecting laterally from the transport substrate contour, the subregion of the aligning device which comes into contact with the lower region of the item projecting laterally includes a stabilizing device. The stabilizing device prevents the item from being deflected, during the alignment process, in the direction of the transport substrate or, respectively, in a downward direction from the lower region of the item projecting laterally beyond the outer contour of the transport substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120096814
Abstract: An apparatus for packaging a load with film, wherein at least a film supply is available, from which the film can be fed. The apparatus encompasses a first wrapping device by means of which a first vertical film curtain, is formed from the fed film and is attached to the vertical side walls of the load. The first wrapping device encompasses a folding device by means of which a film section of the film, which is fed from the film supply, can be folded such that, after wrapping the load with the first vertical film curtain, the film is attached to the vertical side walls in the lower region of the vertical side walls of the load in a double-layer manner according to the width of the folded film section. The apparatus further encompasses a second wrapping device by means of which a second vertical film curtain can be embodied from fed film. This second film curtain can be attached to the upper side, to two vertical side walls and to the underside of the load by means of the second wrapping device.

  • Patent number: 7670100
Abstract: In a stack of flexible sheets on a substrate having an outer edge, some of the sheets project laterally past one of the edges. The stack is tamped together by a stabilizing element shiftable horizontally toward and away from the one edge of the substrate and a drive that shifts the stabilizing element horizontally toward the stack and substrate for engaging the projecting sheets and pushing same inward on substrate to a position lying on or inward of the outer edge without vertically bending or deflecting the sheets.

  • Publication number: 20070151211
Abstract: A foil hood is wrapped around a load by first positioning a respective tensioning finger immediately adjacent each corner of the load in an inner position with the fingers relatively close and then gathering the hood into vertically stacked folds and fitting the gathered hood over the fingers with an open end of the hood downward. Then the fingers are spread outward away from the load-into outer positions spaced from the load to transversely stretch the hood. The fingers are then downward until a closed end of the hood engages the top of the load, and the fingers are shifted toward each other into intermediate positions lying outward of the inner positions and inward of the inner positions so as to relieve some of the stretch in the hood, whereupon the fingers are further downward so that the hood is pulled upward fold-by-fold off the fingers.
