Patent number: 6843676Abstract: The invention relates to a male connector 13 for connecting to a female connector, which female connector housing has on its outer face at least one retaining projection. The male connector 13 comprises a male connector housing 14 with an elastic locking arm 21 with a locking strut 23. The male connector 13 has a slider 29 arranged to, which is displaceably held on the male connector housing 14 in an axially limited way. In the locking position the slider 29 prevents a deflection of the locking arm 21 and releases the same in a position different thereto. Compression springs 27, supported on the male connector housing 14 and on the slider 29, act on the slider 29 for taking up its locking position. An elastic retaining element 35 made from round steel, is mounted on the slider 29. In the relaxed condition of the spring leg 37, the retaining element 35 contacts the end face 6 of the female connector housing.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2003Date of Patent: January 18, 2005Assignee: Yazaki Europe Ltd.Inventors: Harald Michael Lutsch, Ranko Resman, Dalibor Zorica

Patent number: 6655978Abstract: The invention relates to a male connector (13) for being connected to a female connector (1) whose female connector housing (2), on the outer face (9) of same, comprises an engaging lug (10). The male connector (13) comprises a male connector housing (14) with a resilient locking arm (22) with engaging means (23) and with releasing faces (27) near the end of the locking arm (22) which is remote from the engaging means (23). The male connector (13) is associated with a slide (30) which is held on the male connector (13) so as to be axially displaceable relative thereto to a limited extent. In the locking position, the slide (30) prevents the locking arm (22) from being deflected and releases the locking arm (22) in a position deviating from the locking position. Pressure springs (37) which are supported on the male connector housing (14) and on the slide (30) load the slide (30) to enable same to assume its locking position.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2002Date of Patent: December 2, 2003Assignee: Yazaki Europe Ltd.Inventors: Harald Michael Lutsch, Ranko Resman, Dalibor Krivohlavec

Patent number: 6480305Abstract: An imaging device includes plurality of illumination elements interspersed among a plurality of light sensing elements so that each illumination element is adjacent to a light sensing element. The illumination elements each include a ferroelectric liquid crystal element positioned over a LED. The light sensing elements each include a photodiode. The illumination elements and the light sensing elements are arranged so that adjacent to each illumination element is a light sensing element. Illumination control logic can selectively illuminate each of the illumination elements. The light sensing elements are coupled to analog shift registers. The light sensing elements generate charges related to the intensity of the impinging light. Sensor control logic is used to load the charges generated by the light sensing elements corresponding to the illuminated illumination elements into the shift registers. The charge data in the shift registers is sequentially shifted to the input of an amplifier.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1999Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventor: Mark F. Patent number: 6459424Abstract: A touch screen panel having varied region-specific combinations of resolution and touch sensitivity may also incorporate display functionality. For a first embodiment of the invention, the majority of the screen area exhibits low resolution, high touch force characteristics. A smaller area of the screen exhibits low touch force and high resolution properties. For a second embodiment of the invention, at least a portion of the peripheral regions (i.e., regions near the circumferential edge) of the screen are provided with regions of low touch force high resolution properties. These regions may be programmed to act as scroll bars, which would allow the user to change locations in a document of which only a portion is displayed on the screen. In the central regions of the screen, higher touch force and lower resolution provide palm rejection and coarse marking or movement capability with low bandwidth utilization.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1999Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventor: Mark F. Patent number: 6246395Abstract: There is provided a method and apparatus for categorizing substantially simultaneous inputs to a touchscreen. The method is described within a computer device having a display screen adapted to receive touchscreen input. In a first step, the display screen is divided into a plurality of sectors. Next, the sectors are sequentially scanned for input. When a plurality of substantially simultaneous inputs are sensed in respective sectors, the location by sector of each input is ascertained. A unique value is then assigned to each input received, the assigned values corresponding to the sequence in time of the respective inputs based upon the sequentially scanned sectors in which the inputs occurred. The apparatus includes a display screen adapted to receive touchscreen input. A touchscreen driver/sensor is provided to divide the display screen into a plurality of sectors and to sense input in each of the sectors.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1998Date of Patent: June 12, 2001Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Gregg S. Patent number: 5535364Abstract: An adaptive method allocates RAM between procedures having both higher and lower priorities. The RAM is provided with first and second portions, the first portion for assignment to higher priority procedures and the second portion for assignment to lower priority procedures, higher priority procedures being able to access also the second portion of RAM. The adaptive method comprises the steps of: responding to a request for allocation of RAM to a higher priority procedure by determining if RAM is available from the first portion and, if not, allocating RAM from the second portion to the higher priority procedure. The method enables allocation of RAM from the second portion to a lower priority procedure when available RAM in the first portion exceeds a first threshold level.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1993Date of Patent: July 9, 1996Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Mark F. Patent number: 4697127Abstract: A controller for a voice coil motor driven disk file actuator is described. The device has an online adjustable gain characteristic for controlling movement of the actuator assembly and an estimator that estimates actuator velocity and bias. Forward gain is estimated from position and coil current measurements and compared with a nominal value to create an error signal used to adjust the controller and estimator gain characteristics. The control technique allows changes in the open loop system without changing the closed loop performance. By monitoring loop gain it is possible to alter compensator gains to maintain a constant closed loop performance.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1986Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Michael C.
