  • Publication number: 20240104043
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a module which can be inserted into or removed from a computing device by a user. The module includes an input-output port which is configured for a desired specification, such as USB-A, USB-C, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort or HDMI. The port can be provided on an expansion card such as an M.2 card for communicating with a host platform. The host platform can communicate with different types of modules in a standardized way so that complexity and costs are reduced. In another aspect, with a dual port module, the host platform can concurrently send/receive power through one port and send/receive data from the other port.

  • Publication number: 20120125912
Abstract: A temperature controlled/limiting heating element for an electrically powered cooking appliance, having: a plate with an upper contact heating surface; a pair of heating element terminals adapted for removably engaging electrical power supply terminals of the electrically powered cooking appliance; a plurality of resistive heating wires, in thermal engagement with a lower surface of the top plate, comprising: a non-cycling resistive heating wire connected in series to the heating element terminals; and a cycling resistive heating wire connected in series to the heating element terminals via a thermostat switch in thermal engagement with a lower surface of the top plate, wherein the thermostat switch is normally closed when exposed to a sensed temperature below a set temperature and the thermostat switch opens when the sensed temperature is equal to or exceeds the set temperature.

  • Publication number: 20120068556
Abstract: A safety sensor device for an appliance detects burning conditions and shuts off power to the appliance. The device includes a sensor unit positioned near an exhaust of the appliance, and a relay unit connected along a power supply path to the appliance. The relay and sensor units are linked. The sensor unit includes a sensor for monitoring exhaust air from the appliance. The relay unit includes a circuit that electrically connects the appliance with a power source while in an ON state and electrically disconnects the appliance from the power source while in an OFF state, the circuit being responsive to the sensor unit to transition from the ON state to the OFF state if the sensor detects burning conditions.

  • Publication number: 20060260603
Abstract: A gas control system having: a valve body having a preliminary chamber, an inlet orifice in communication with said preliminary chamber, an outlet orifice on said valve body in communication with a gas burning device, a main chamber within said valve body, said main chamber and said preliminary chamber communicating through a valve opening, a stopper in said preliminary chamber and normally urged by a compression spring located in said preliminary chamber to engage with said valve opening to close communication between said preliminary chamber and said main chamber, an elongated slidable rod slidably mounted in said valve body and having an inner end portion juxtaposed with said stopper washer, and a pressing arm juxtaposed with another end of said slidable rod and operative for pressing said slidable arm inwards to disengage said stopper washer from said valve opening for releasing the gas in said preliminary chamber into said outlet orifice.

  • Publication number: 20050087221
Abstract: An energy conversion system is provided for converting heat energy from a variety of heat sources to electric power for operating electrical appliances. The system may be incorporated in a power on demand pilot system of a gas operated equipment to provide the sole electric power for operating the equipment. Thermoelectric modules provide the basic transducer for converting the heat energy to electric power and a heat pipe is employed for conducting the heat energy from a heat source to the conversion system.
