  • Publication number: 20230345416
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may establish, by a first subscription of the UE, a connection to a first network entity using two transmit (Tx) chains of the UE. The UE may receive, by a second subscription of the UE, a paging message from a second network entity. The UE may receive, by the first subscription from the second subscription, a request for the first subscription to enter a mode that supports one Tx chain. The UE, by the first subscription, may reduce the two Tx chains to the one Tx chain for the first subscription. The UE may perform, by the second subscription to the second network entity, the connection setup based at least in part on the first subscription reducing the two Tx chains to the one Tx chain. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 11800441
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for wireless communications are described for differentiation between standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) cells in a wireless communications system. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a subcarrier offset for a system information block (SIB). The SIB may be for a cell of a wireless communications network. The cell may be in accordance with a radio access technology. The UE may determine, based on the subcarrier offset for the SIB, whether the cell is configured as an SA cell or as an NSA cell for the radio access technology. The UE may communicate via the wireless communications network based on whether the cell is configured as an SA cell or as an NSA cell.

  • Publication number: 20230319920
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with two subscriptions. The first subscription may support dual connectivity with one or more cell groups, such as a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), while a second subscription may not support dual connectivity. Each subscription may support communications with one or more radio access technologies (RAT). The UE may use the protocol stack for a RAT in the first subscription to receive idle-mode signaling, such as one or more paging messages, from the second subscription using the same RAT.

  • Patent number: 11778634
Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE receives a first uplink grant for a first RAT (e.g., 5G NR) and a second uplink grant for a second RAT (e.g., LTE). In one embodiment, the UE schedules an uplink transmission on the first RAT (e.g., by selectively dropping the uplink transmission on particular resource blocks) so as to manage an amount of time that is based on concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are performed. In another embodiment, the UE establishes a first period of time where a BSR transmitted by the UE on the first RAT is adjusted based on scheduling of concurrent uplink multi-RAT transmissions, and a second period of time where no BSR is transmitted by the UE on the first RAT based where concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are not permitted to be scheduled.

  • Publication number: 20230300671
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a receiving device, such as a user equipment (UE), may reduce packet congestion associated with communications between the receiving device and a transmitting device, such as a server, via a radio access network (RAN). The receiving device may measure congestion metrics associated with receiving data packets from the transmitting device via the RAN. The congestion metrics may include RAN congestion metrics and transport or application layer congestion metrics associated with the network connection between the receiving device and the transmitting device. The receiving device may estimate packet congestion at the receiving device according to the measured congestion metrics. The receiving device may modify connection parameters of the network connection based on the estimated packet congestion.

  • Patent number: 11765717
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure present techniques for coordination between a user equipment (UE) and one or more network entities to allow necessary interruptions on a first link associated with a first subscriber identification module (SIM) of the UE in order to establish or use a second link associated with a second SIM of the UE. A UE may include two or more SIMs, such as, for example, when offering Dual-SIM-Dual-Active (DSDA) functionalities. The UE may be limited by a single receiving chain, disregarding the multiple SIMs carried therein. The present disclosure alleviates or removes such limitations by coordinating between the UE and one or more network entities to optimize the use of the multiple SIMs.
