  • Publication number: 20080119306
Abstract: The tackling dummy includes a slide having a ground-engaging skid and an upward extending frame configured to receive a channel formed in an anthropomorphic body having a front side and a relatively narrower profile side. The channel extends upwardly into the anthropomorphic body from a lower side thereof and engages the upwardly extending frame for positioning the anthropomorphic body in one of two primary configurations relative to the slide. These configurations are rotationally spaced about the longitudinal axis of the channel approximately 90° from one another.

  • Publication number: 20050060026
Abstract: Fenestrated Asymmetric Intracardiac Device for the completion of total cavopulmonary connection through cardiac catheterization, having a bifurcated tubular conduct, constituted by two portions (1, 2) both made of a tubular mesh covered with an impermeable polymer. Upper end (5) of first portion (1) is progressively flattened to a substantially oval shape, with progressive cross sections of an equal area. First portion (1) presents at least a lateral fenestration (5) which is selectively obturable. Second upper portion (2) bifurcates into two divergent branches (7, 6) and backwards forming with respect to the longest branch a deformed “Y”, of which: branch (6) is the longest and is introduced into the left pulmonary artery, while branch (7) is shorter and lodges into the right shorted pulmonary artery. The device defines a connection between the inferior vena cava and pulmonary branches, establishing a physiological distribution of the blood flow in both lungs.

  • Publication number: 20050059923
Abstract: A first arched surface (2) having a lower end fenestration (4), protruding from a tubular body (1), intersecting it along a closed oval perimeter (5). A second arched surface (7) placed with body (1) facing first surface (2), with an upper opening (8). Both surfaces (2,7) are related through this same perimeter (5) with identical cross sections. Body (1) and both arched surfaces (2,7) are made of a waterproof material. Surface (7) is elastically deformed along said perimeter (5), having means capable of displacing it between two operative positions. When both surfaces (2,7) have opposed convexities of different sign, they establish a passage (9) communicating inner tubular body (6) through said opening (8) and fenestration (4). When surface (7) acquires a same sign convexity to first surface (2), it settles against the inside of (2) closing passage (9), fenestration 4 and opening (8), with a sealing relationship.

  • Patent number: 5386986
Abstract: A batting practice device includes a base which may be secured to a chain-link fence without the use of tools, an adjustable-length rigid arm fixed to the base and extending generally perpendicularly thereto, and a tethered free-swinging ball supported from an end of the rigid arm opposite the base. The base includes a primary support bar configured to slip between adjacent wire portions of the chain-link fence and to securely hook-on thereto, and a stabilizing crossbar generally perpendicular to the primary support bar. The rigid arm includes a first arm member rigidly fixed to the base, and a second arm member that telescopes with respect to the first arm member for the purpose of adjusting the length of the rigid arm. The ball is attached to a reinforced line which extends through the second end of the rigid arm. The length of the reinforced line is adjustable, and extends from the second end of the rigid arm centrally therethrough to the base.
