    Abstract: A retail or advertising display contains visual cues which convey the area of use and the method of use of a novel vertical pump-up dispenser to the consumer. Having a sponge or other substrate on top of the dispenser conveys the area of use of the dispenser. The dispenser has a large actuator surface designed to convey that it can deliver a composition to a broad substrate area, such as a sponge, in the consumer's hand without the consumer having to pick up the pump dispenser. Having a hand over the substrate and dispenser conveys the one-handed method of cleaning that the dispenser allows. There may be additional indicia of use, such as arrows pointing down. The retail display may contain the dispenser and the substrate packaged together.

    Abstract: An aerosol spray dispenser is disclosed that includes an outer housing that is circular, oval, or non-oval and in which an active composition to be dispensed is provided and a closure sleeve housing within the outer housing. An inner receptacle is provided within the closure sleeve housing and within the volume of the outer housing and contains a propellant to be dispensed. The inner housing may be concentrically located within the outer housing. An actuator assembly houses a nozzle that has a venturi constriction. A tube extends within the outer housing to provide the passage of active composition from within the outer housing by means of the venturi effect. A conduit for the passage of a propellant from the inner receptacle to the nozzle is provided. The propellant and the active composition are mixed and dispensed as a spray at a nozzle by action of the venturi effect.

    Abstract: A pump dispenser has a large ergonomic actuator designed to ergonomically deliver a composition to a substrate in the consumer's hand without the consumer having to pick up the pump dispenser. The ergonomic design allows the composition to be delivered in a proper aspect ratio to the substrate. The composition can be delivered in such a way that the composition is not aerosolized into the air or delivered to an unintended surface. The method of delivery can be made intuitive to the consumer by providing an actuator skirt that suggests the pumping mechanism or by providing a depiction of a hand or substrate over the pump dispenser. The pump dispenser is also useful for compositions or substrates that are not stable together.

    Abstract: A method for forming self-assembled patterns on a substrate surface is provided. First, a block copolymer layer, which comprises a block copolymer having two or more immiscible polymeric block components, is applied onto a substrate that comprises a substrate surface with a trench therein. The trench specifically includes at least one narrow region flanked by two wide regions, and wherein the trench has a width variation of more than 50%. Annealing is subsequently carried out to effectuate phase separation between the two or more immiscible polymeric block components in the block copolymer layer, thereby forming periodic patterns that are defined by repeating structural units. Specifically, the periodic patterns at the narrow region of the trench are aligned in a predetermined direction and are essentially free of defects. Block copolymer films formed by the above-described method as well as semiconductor structures comprising such block copolymer films are also described.
