  • Publication number: 20160367773
Abstract: In one embodiment, the nasal clip is infused with a volatile medicant and/or therapeutic aromatic that volatilizes under body temperature to permeate into the septum mucosa of a user's nose. In a second embodiment, the nasal clip has limbs that are pre-stressed to engage the septum mucosa so that the intermittent stimulation caused by the frequency of each heart beat and the heat in the inhaled warm breath help release the volatile medicants and aromatic materials. In a third embodiment, the nasal clip is integrated with an oxygen delivery cannula to allow delivery of oxygen with the medicant and/or therapeutic aromatic.

  • Patent number: 9518454
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for controlling a plurality of perforating gun assemblies arranged in a gun train and lowered into a wellbore. The perforating gun assemblies are connected to a top sub controller that is also lowered into the wellbore. The top sub controller includes a first communications module to communicate with an above-ground control panel via a wireline and a second communications module to communicate with a switch sub in each the plurality of perforating gun assemblies via a network bus. Each switch sub has a unique network address. During assembly, the control panel automatically detects the order of the perforating gun assemblies in the gun train based on polling each of the switch subs of the plurality of perforating gun assemblies using the respective unique network addresses.

  • Patent number: 9513242
Abstract: A humidity sensor may include a first substrate having a recess formed in a first side, a second substrate and an insulating layer supported by the second substrate. The second substrate and the insulating layer may be supported by the first side of the first substrate and extend over the recess to form a diaphragm with the insulating layer facing the recess. The diaphragm may be at least partially thermally isolated from a remainder of the second substrate. A resistive heater element may be supported by the diaphragm. A pair of sensing electrodes are electrically separated from each other and supported by the diaphragm. A sensing material is disposed over the pair of sensing electrodes, wherein an electrical property of the sensing material changes in response to a change in moisture content of the sensing material.

  • Patent number: 9470593
Abstract: A pressure sensor includes a pressure sensing element and a top cap. The pressure sensing element includes a bonded wafer substrate having a buried sealed cavity. A wall of the buried sealed cavity forms a sensing diaphragm. One or more sense elements may be supported by the sensing diaphragm and one or more bond pads are supported by the upper side of the bonded wafer substrate. Each of the bond pads may be positioned adjacent to the sensing diaphragm and electrically connected to one or more of the sense elements. The top cap may be secured to the upper side of the bonded wafer substrate such that an aperture in the top cap facilitates passage of a media in a downward direction to the sensing diaphragm. The top cap may be configured to isolate the bond pads from the media.

  • Publication number: 20160242894
Abstract: A urethral scaffold is provided for expanding a portion of the urethra that extends through the prostate. The scaffold is expandable and has a plurality of undulating circumferential members disposed between a proximal end and a distal end of the scaffold. A central section of the scaffold has a width that exceeds the width at the distal end of the scaffold. The scaffold is made of a material that reacts with urine or with tissue surrounding the urethra to reduce the volume of the scaffold such that the scaffold can self-explant without an interventional procedure.
