  • Publication number: 20050076577
Abstract: Abrasive tools contain abrasive grains oriented in an array according to a non-uniform pattern having an exclusionary zone around each abrasive grain, and the exclusionary zone has a minimum dimension that exceeds the maximum diameter of the desired grit size range for the abrasive grain. Methods for designing such a self-avoiding array of abrasive grain and for transferring such an array to an abrasive tool body are described.

  • Publication number: 20050054517
Abstract: The invention provides low metal content molecular sieve catalyst compositions, processes for making such catalysts, and processes for using such catalysts in the conversion of an oxygenate into one or more light olefins. Preferably, the catalyst composition comprises a matrix material having a low metal content. By utilizing matrix materials having low metal contents, the amount of metal-catalyzed side reaction byproducts formed in a reaction system, particularly in an oxygenate-to-olefin reaction system, can be advantageously reduced.

  • Patent number: 6857371
Abstract: The two-payload decoy device has a square outer case, containing a manifold/delay body assembly, a round payload assembly, and a square payload assembly. The square outer case is closed with an end cap. The manifold/delay body assembly is attached to the round payload assembly, which rests against the square payload assembly. Firing a standard impulse cartridge ignites a booster pellet and delay element in the manifold/delay body assembly. Gases flow through openings in the manifold/delay body assembly and down the corner cavities between the round payload assembly and the square case, pushing the square piston against the square payload, which separates the end cap from the case and ejects the square payload. The delay element burns for a specific time, and then ignites a round payload expulsion charge, which creates gases that push the round piston against the round payload, which dislodges a retaining ring, and ejects the round payload.

  • Publication number: 20050025236
Abstract: A method for reducing or eliminating coding artifacts in video pictures processed using intra block prediction methods, for example, according to the H.264 standard. The causes of the coding artifacts are identified to be the intra prediction modes with prediction directions that are not in the direction of the raster scan. Filtering the affected blocks with a simple one-dimensional spatial filter will reduce or even eliminate these coding artifacts.

  • Patent number: 6629247
Abstract: Modules included in a UPS system can communicate over a Controller Area Network using messages having separate fields within an arbitration field. In particular, the separate fields can be separate priority fields, separate module identifier fields, and separate source and destination routing fields. The separate priority field can allow identical message types having different priority to be transmitted within the UPS system. For example, in a UPS system according to the invention, a rectifier off command can have greater priority than a rectifier reset command. The separate module identifier fields can uniquely identify the location of a module in the UPS system which transmitted the message. For example, the module identifier can be provided by customized wiring in a wiring harness connected to a respective communications interface circuit. The separate destination routing fields can be used to transmit messages to and from bridges in the UPS system.
