  • Publication number: 20070060237
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a universal bonus within a gaming environment are disclosed. Such systems include universal bonuses that are made available to patrons of both gaming machines and other non-gaming machine gaming venues, such as gaming tables. Systems can include a gaming machine, a gaming table, and a universal system server. Tracking devices at both the gaming machines and gaming tables or other gaming venues facilitate the tracking of gaming events that give rise to the eligibility of a player to participate in the universal bonus. The same singular universal bonus is then made available to players playing entirely different games and/or at different gaming venues. Incorporated into the system are considerations for including slot machines, video poker machines, blackjack tables, poker tables, craps tables, roulette tables, keno lounges, sports books and other wager based games offered by a casino or other gaming establishment.

  • Publication number: 20070060311
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking RFID gaming chips at a gaming table are disclosed. Gaming chips include an outer body with center and rim portions, and a plurality of RFID tags contained within the outer body. Signals from gaming chip RFID tags can be encrypted only for readers having an appropriate private key, and can be subject to a variable time delay unique to each RFID tag. Separate RFID tags within one gaming chip can be identical for security purposes, and to increase “visibility” to associated RFID readers at the gaming table. Security breach components within RFID tags can reduce or prevent unauthorized writing or tampering attempts to an RFID gaming chip. Further system components include a gaming table and a plurality of RFID reading devices distributed thereabout, including transponders and antennae. Such RFID reading devices are disposed beneath an upper surface of the gaming table in a grid-like fashion.

  • Publication number: 20070032288
Abstract: A gaming terminal data repository (GTDR) for storing game software components and transaction information for gaming machine and gaming terminals is disclosed. A system database is partitioned according to different gaming entities allowing game software component configurations of particular gaming terminals to be easily analyzed and modified. Game software components for gaming terminals connected to the GTDR may be automatically updated using various triggers. System gaming machines may utilize a combination of game software components residing on the gaming machine and those received from the GTDR. A library of preset gaming terminal configurations can be stored at the system database, where each such preset configuration includes specific settings for each of a plurality of gaming terminal setting categories. Gaming terminals can be configured remotely using the GTDR, and possibly one or more of the stored preset gaming terminal configurations.

  • Publication number: 20060287058
Abstract: This invention provides methods and devices for presenting a plurality of game elements on one or more display devices. The game elements may comprise, for example, bingo cards, playing cards, hands of playing cards, etc. Some implementations of the invention involve displaying a plurality of game elements as surfaces of a three-dimensional object. Preferably, the orientation of the three-dimensional object can be varied to display selected game elements. The game elements may be selected by a player and/or by a logic device. In some implementations, the three-dimensional object comprises a “carousel” that can be re-oriented (e.g., rotated) to display game elements.

  • Publication number: 20060258427
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking and communicating data regarding table game activities across multiple gaming establishments are disclosed. A single local system or multiple systems networked over a wide area can be implemented. A WAN of automated table game tracking units can be associated with a centralized server and a centralized tracking database. Each electronic gaming activity tracking unit tracks player information and table activity and forwards this data to the centralized server. Data collected at a first gaming establishment can be made available in real time at a second separate gaming establishment. Cameras capture visual images and RFID readers capture RFID chip data from subject gaming tables, and these images and data are forwarded to the centralized server. Analysis and modification of different data sets and correlation from visual images and RFID data to respective data sets can be performed and stored at a system database.

  • Publication number: 20060256965
Abstract: Various techniques are disclosed for authenticating a first gaming application adapted for deployment at a first gaming machine that is operable to receive a wager on a game of chance. A first gaming application signature is accessed. In at least one embodiment, the first gaming application signature is associated with a first portion of a first plurality of gaming objects that are associated with the first gaming application. A first certified gaming signature associated with the first gaming application may also be accessed. Authentication of the first gaming application may be performed. In at least one embodiment, the first gaming application may be authenticated, for example, by comparing at least one gaming application signature with at least one certified gaming signature. If it is determined that the first gaming application is not authentic, the first gaming application signature may be analyzed to identify at least one invalid gaming object.

  • Publication number: 20060160620
Abstract: Systems and methods for awarding bonuses associated with gaming machines are disclosed. A bonus system host generates and transmits bonus event information to a gaming machine for display. The bonus system can be associated with a player tracking network including a remote player tracking host and a player tracking device at a gaming machine, which can include a controller and display. Alternatively, no player tracking device exists at the gaming machine, and bonus information is sent to a display on the gaming machine itself. A bonus can be awarded independent of the outcome of play on the gaming machine, and can be a themed bonus. Bonus event results for a specific player can be carried over to a following instance of a game played by that specific player. One form of bonus can be improved pay tables, with odds calculated as a function of player play within the bonus system.

  • Publication number: 20060106704
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for protecting transaction information stored in a database of a gaming network. To accomplish this, a transaction signature is generated each time the user completes a transaction on a gaming machine. The transaction signature is generated using transaction information from a particular transaction. The transaction signature and transaction information are stored together in a network database. Upon subsequent access to the transaction information in the database, the transaction signature for the transaction information is recalculated based on the transaction information at that time. The new transaction signature is then compared to the transaction signature previously stored. Any differences between the two transaction signatures may be used to signal unauthorized alteration in the database transaction information.

  • Publication number: 20060080175
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for customizing a game application for play of a game of chance on a gaming machine. A plurality of attributes are provided. The attributes include at least one attribute relating to gaming behavior of associated individuals. Values of selected attributes associated with ones of a set of individuals are compared with values of the selected attributes associated with others of the individuals. This comparison is performed to determine at least one attribute difference representing a difference among the values of the attributes. A subset of the set of individuals is defined. Each of the individuals in the subset has the one attribute difference in common. Player identification information is received for the player. Responsive to receiving the player identification information, player attributes for the player are retrieved. Based on the retrieved player attributes for the player, it is determined whether the player belongs to the subset of individuals.
