Abstract: An electrical connector that includes a plug insert having a dielectric body and having a pair of contact channels. The contact channels have central axes that extend parallel to each other in a common direction. The contact channels are defined by respective channel walls and are separated by an inter-channel portion of the dielectric body. The channel walls have wall perimeters that extend around the corresponding central axes. The electrical connector also has a contact sub-assembly that includes mating contacts that are received in the contact channels and retention clips that are positioned within the contact channels between the mating contacts and the channel walls. Each of the retention clips has a concave body with an open side. The concave body extends partially about the wall perimeter with the open side positioned along a portion of the wall perimeter. The retention clips are oriented to face one another.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for identifying features in an image. The method comprises fitting a plurality of second models to the image, the plurality of second models together modelling a region of interest, wherein each part of the region of interest is modelled by at least two of the plurality of second models; and identifying the features in the image based upon the fit of the plurality of second models.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and survey method for acquiring radiation spectral data in a radiation field and optionally determining effective dose rate based on the radiation spectral data. The method may include acquiring energy-dependent radiation spectral data at a location of interest in a radiation field using a detector, wherein the energy-dependent radiation spectral data may include counts versus energy. The method may further include acquiring radiation spectral data at least one other location wherein the at least one other location is positioned relative to the location of interest.

Abstract: A system and methods for enabling a mobile device to display multiple calendar views. In particular, a system allows a mobile device to switch between an agenda view, an expanded calendar view and a collapsed busy time view. Temporary free time records and event summary records are provided to the mobile device receiving input from the mobile device to view a calendar displaying the free time the user has within a selected day. Event records associated with the user for the selected day are identified in a database. The system determines remaining time slots in the selected day that are not associated with a scheduled event. A temporary free-time record is generated for each such time slot. Temporary event summary records are generated representing consecutively scheduled and solo events. The temporary free-time records and temporary event summary records are delivered to the mobile device.

Abstract: A modular seating riser for stadia, a set of structural modules for building the same, a kit and an assembly therefor, as well as to a method for building the same, are provided. More particularly, a set of structural modules for building a structurally sound modular seating riser on which seats of a bleacher-type stadium can be mounted are provided. The structural modules are an elongated metal extrusion. The set of structural module includes a first module having a female tensioned catch-connector provided along a lateral edge thereof, and a second module having a male tensioned catch-connector provided along a lateral edge thereof. The male and female tensioned catch-connectors have complementary configurations for mating and interlocking together, and forming, when interlocked together, a structural permanent joint.

Abstract: A method for producing a customised surgical instrument or prosthesis for a specific patient is described. At least one x-ray image of a body part of the patient is captured. A statistical model having a dense set of anatomical correspondence points across the model is instantiated using image data derived from the at least one x-ray image to generate a patient specific model of the body part having a high accuracy surface. Patient specific data from the patient specific model is used to generate a design of the customised surgical instrument or prosthesis for use in a surgical procedure to be carried out on the body part. The surgical instrument or prosthesis is then manufactured using the design. A computer implemented method for generating the patient specific model of the body part is also described.

Abstract: Optical radiation is applied to a multimode optical fibre, either from another fibre or from a laser, in such a way as to control the mode distribution in the multimode optical fibre. The mode distribution is selected in such a way as to improve performance, for example to avoid transmission nulls or to reduce noise due to reflections back to a laser.

Abstract: Folded storage boxes are assembled into an array of joined folded storage boxes provide a sliding drawer at a front face of each box, such that stacked and laterally joined boxes are accessible from the front of each box. Fasteners join side walls of juxtaposed boxes at intermediate heights to define short beam wall structures. A drawer retention device limits the degree of front withdrawal of each drawer so that drawers on higher courses than the ground course are protected from accidental falls. A divider system in the drawer is supported on side rail sheets that are secured by inertia hooks.

Abstract: A prefabricated bridge deck panel can be affixed to pre-existing bridge girders. The bridge deck panel includes an elongated metal deck plate stiffened longitudinally by longitudinal stiffening metal ribs. The bridge deck panel also has at least one inverted Tee rib underneath the deck plate. The vertical web member of the inverted Tee rib has its upper end structurally secured to the deck plate of the bridge deck panel. The panel also includes spaced-apart transverse floor beams underneath the deck plate. The vertical web member of the transverse floor beams has recesses fitted over the longitudinal stiffening metal ribs, and interfits with the vertical web member of the inverted Tee rib. The upper end of the transverse floor beams is structurally secured to the deck plate. In use, the inverted Tee rib is laid on and secured to a pre-existing bridge girder.

Abstract: A system, method, and program product is provided that receives an instruction to fetch data from a data page. The data page is associated with a storage key and a fetch protection bit, and the instruction is pointed to by the program status word (PSW) that includes a PSW key and an ignore fetch protection bit. The data is fetched from the data page when the PSW key is a non-zero value, the PSW key is different than the storage key, and both the fetch protection bit and the ignore fetch protection bit are set ON. However, the data is not fetched from the data page when the PSW key is a non-zero value, the PSW key is different than the storage key, the fetch protection bit is ON, and the ignore fetch protection bit is OFF.

Abstract: A method of transmission of radio signals over all types of graded-index multimode fibre is provided. The method comprises launching optical radiation into the core of the multimode fibre with a specified restricted launch to allow multiple trans-verse mode lasers transmitters to be used in low cost radio over fibre links. The launch technique allows a reduction in modal dispersion and modal interference, thus greatly improving the transmission performance of radio over fibre signals over multimode fibre as well as reducing system impairments such as outages and link failures.

Abstract: The mobile device described herein dynamically generates a new play list of songs having an attribute of a currently playing song. More particularly, the mobile device receives a change play list command that identifies a default attribute. Exemplary attributes include artist, album, composer, and genre of the current song. In response, the mobile device automatically generates the new play list that includes all songs having the default attribute of the current song. For example, the mobile device may generate a new play list of songs having the same artist as the current song. Subsequently, the mobile device plays the audio files in the new play list.

Abstract: A gas sampling and inlet device for a mass spectrometer has a hollow housing sleeve with an open inside region and a hollow inner sleeve with an open inside region, with the inner sleeve coaxial to the housing sleeve. One end of the housing sleeve and one end of the inner sleeve are connected with a single first end cap. The second end of the housing sleeve has a second end cap, but the second end of the inner sleeve is open such that the inside of the inner sleeve is open to the inside of the housing sleeve. The first end cap has a small diameter orifice adapted to receive a gaseous fluid. The second end cap is connected to a mass spectrometer. The second end cap has an orifice adapted to receive a gaseous fluid into the mass spectrometer that is substantially smaller in diameter than the orifice in the first end cap. The housing sleeve has a vacuum pump port to allow a vacuum to be created in the interior of the inlet device.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for a computer implemented data manager. A statement is executed in a computer. The statement being performed by the computer to access data from a database stored on a data storage device connected to the computer. A determination is made as to whether to defer referential integrity checking when executing the statement. When it is determined that referential integrity checking is to be deferred, each record is processed that is specified in the statement. Keys for select records are stored as each record is processed. Then, after executing the statement, referential integrity checking is performed on the stored keys.
