  • Patent number: 8753510
Abstract: A fluid pressure vessel has a chamber with an inlet and outlet with a nested primary and secondary filter bag disposed such that the primary bag communicates exclusively with the inlet, and flow through the primary bag flows through the secondary bag before the outlet. The primary bag is disposed in a first rigid porous basket and the bag rim seals against a flange on the first basket. The secondary filter bag surrounds the first basket and the rim of the secondary bag is sealed around the flange of first basket. A second rigid porous basket surrounds the secondary filter bag and is sealed on the rim of the secondary filter bag and is sealed against the inner periphery of the pressure chamber by an O-ring.

  • Publication number: 20140034986
Abstract: A broadband, omnidirectional, multi-layer, dielectric reflector for an LED in a white light emitting device provides both near 100% reflectivity across the visible spectrum of light, and electrical insulation between the substrate and the electrical circuitry used to power and control the LED. When a sealant material, having a higher index of refraction than air, is used to protect the LED and the accompanying electrical circuitry, an aluminum reflector layer or substrate is provided to make up for the loss of reflectivity at certain angles of incidence. The dielectric reflector includes two separate sections with two different thicknesses, a thinner section below the LED providing better heat conductivity, and a thicker section surrounding the LED providing better reflectivity.

  • Publication number: 20140013701
Abstract: A bracket for a building that includes a first building member, a masonry veneer disposed exteriorly of the first building member, and a second building member disposed exteriorly of the masonry veneer. The bracket includes a bracket body having a first portion for being coupled to the first building member and a second outwardly extending portion having a length sufficient to extend to at least about an exterior surface of the masonry veneer. A connector member extends through the bracket member, and at least partially through each of the first and second building members. A connector support extends through the bracket body and includes a sleeve having a passageway for receiving and supporting the connector member, wherein the bracket body and connector support are configured to distribute a load borne by the connector member on the masonry veneer over an area of the bracket body greater than the area of the connector.

  • Publication number: 20140014838
Abstract: An optical filter having a passband at least partially overlapping with a wavelength range of 800 nm to 1100 nm is provided. The optical filter includes a filter stack formed of hydrogenated silicon layers and lower-refractive index layers stacked in alternation. The hydrogenated silicon layers each have a refractive index of greater than 3 over the wavelength range of 800 nm to 1100 nm and an extinction coefficient of less than 0.0005 over the wavelength range of 800 nm to 1100 nm.

  • Publication number: 20130231904
Abstract: A system and method is described herein for data filtering to reduce functional, and trend line outlier bias. Outliers are removed from the data set through an objective statistical method. Bias is determined based on absolute, relative error, or both. Error values are computed from the data, model coefficients, or trend line calculations. Outlier data records are removed when the error values are greater than or equal to the user-supplied criteria. For optimization methods or other iterative calculations, the removed data are re-applied each iteration to the model computing new results. Using model values for the complete dataset, new error values are computed and the outlier bias reduction procedure is re-applied. Overall error is minimized for model coefficients and outlier removed data in an iterative fashion until user defined error improvement limits are reached. The filtered data may be used for validation, outlier bias reduction and data quality operations.

  • Publication number: 20120022436
Abstract: The portable environmental control chamber provides gas, as needed, to encourage healing and prevent infection. In one embodiment, the environmental control chamber acts as a hyperbaric chamber that can be affixed over a wound to supply oxygen to the wound bed. In another embodiment, the environmental control chamber acts as a catheter tent that prevents microbes from entering the catheter site. The environmental control chamber comprises a gas impermeable film that forms a tent over a wound or catheter site to which is attached two or more flexible ports that allow gas to be applied to a site. The chamber is attached to the body using an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 8047306
Abstract: A low speed alternating current motor having motor shaft speeds of about 300 is provided, and such motor has application in numerous industries and devices, such as, for example, in top drive drilling systems. Because of the low shaft speed, mechanical speed reduction equipment may not be necessary. In addition, the motor shaft may be hollow to facilitate the flow of fluid, such as, for example, drilling mud.

  • Publication number: 20100036691
Abstract: A software project management method uses templates from one project phase as inputs to their subsequent project phases. The project is organized in four phases, each phase having one or more steps and one or more attributes. Using XSL, a phase model is transformed into a starting point as input for the subsequent phase model. XSL-FO is used to generate PDF documents from any phase model to export a particular project deliverable. The information and data created within that phase still has meaning as input for the next phase. A model thus derived can be reused for another project as well as to transform into a model used by a subsequent phase within the same project.

  • Publication number: 20090293112
Abstract: Value based tokens are generated for inclusion on a data carrier which may be applied to a media such as a coupon, bank note etc. The tokens are generated by a core system which communicates with application specific wrappers. The wrappers supply token parameters to the core that are specific to the application and the core generates the tokens, and stores them for later authentication. The core then encodes the tokens onto a data carrier under the control of the wrapper and distributes the tokens under the control of the wrapper. When a token is presented for validation, for example by a customer in a shop, the encoded data carrier is scanned and the token retrieved. It is passed back to the core by the wrapper for validation of its identification number and other parameters.
