  • Patent number: 9797885
Abstract: A method, an article and a kit for the detection and visual indication of contact with or exposure to a polyhydroxyaromatic skin irritant found in the sap of a plant is provided herein. The article incorporates a colorless leuco dye that undergoes an instantaneous visible color change when contacted with or exposed to a polyhydroxyaromatic skin irritant in the sap of a plant or on a subject. This color change is an indication that contact with or exposure to a polyhydroxyaromatic skin irritant has occurred. Polyhydroxyaromatic skin irritants found in the sap of plants include those found in poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, poison dogwood, mango tree, cashew tree and lacquer tree. The leuco dye of the invention is Pergascript Red I-6B (1(3H)-isobenzofuranone,3,3-bis(2-methyl-1-octyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-).

  • Publication number: 20170242958
Abstract: Genomic references are structured as a reference graph that represents diploid genotypes in organisms. A path through a series of connected nodes and edges represents a genetic sequence. Genetic variation within a diploid organism is represented by multiple paths through the reference graph. The graph may be transformed into a traversal graph in which a path represents a diploid genotype. Genetic analysis using the traversal graph allows an organism's diploid genotype to be elucidated, e.g., by mapping sequence reads to the reference graph and scoring paths in the traversal graph based on the mapping to determine the path through the traversal graph that best fits the sequence reads.

  • Patent number: 9606061
Abstract: A system and method for creating a buffer solution having a desired pH value is disclosed. The method uses two known buffer solutions, each with predetermined pH values, and determines a mathematical relationship which defines the amount of each known buffer solution needed to create the buffer solution with the desired pH.
