  • Patent number: 10059280
Abstract: A clearing system removes water and other obstructions from an external-mounted rear-view camera of a vehicle. The system includes an air line connected to a compressed-air source and routed to the camera, and a control valve operable to selectively release compressed air from the air source through the air line. A discharge nozzle of the air line is positioned adjacent a lens cover of the camera to deliver an air blast across the lens cover to remove adhered water. The nozzle is positioned outside of the field of view of the camera so that it does not obstruct the view of the camera. In various embodiments, the compressed-air source and the camera are preexisting and the clearing system is retrofit onto the vehicle, the compressed-air source and/or the camera are provided with the clearing system as a kit, and/or the clearing system is installed as original equipment on the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9884416
Abstract: Devices with non-binding linear slides include: (a) a device body and first and second spaced apart linear rails held in the device body; (b) first and second spaced apart (rail) pathways held in cooperating alignment with the rails in the body, a respective one engaged with a respective one of the first and second linear rails that define spaced apart contact points; and (c) a translating actuation (e.g., input) member held by the body in communication with the rails. The actuation (e.g., input) member has a configuration that can generate off-center loads associated with forces applied at different positions of the actuation (e.g., input) member. Only one pathway and rail pair guides linear movement for the first and second force positions to thereby inhibit frictional binding.

  • Publication number: 20170051785
Abstract: Disclosed is a cooling and lubricating system (and method of use) for an RCD bearing/seal assembly comprising an internal conduit for directing fresh oil into the lower end of the bearing assembly where it can then progress upwardly through the bearing assembly and seals to provide cooling and lubrication to the internal bearings and rotary seals. The RCD system employs a small footprint oiler to deliver, via pressurized air, the oil to the RCD. Also disclosed is an RCD bearing assembly outfitted with the oil channel conduits for directing oil through the RCD bearing assembly to cool and lubricate the seals and bearings.
