  • Publication number: 20220193324
Abstract: An apparatus for providing negative-pressure therapy may comprise a negative-pressure chamber and a pneumatically-actuated service timer, which can be used to indicate an expiration or other service condition of the apparatus. The apparatus may further comprise an actuator operable to engage a timer fluid with a migration medium. The timer fluid and the migration medium may be selected so that migration time through the migration medium corresponds to an expiration condition of the apparatus. The timer may also provide indicia of migration progress or termination.

  • Publication number: 20220174155
Abstract: A system and method for managing virtual queues. A cloud-based queue service manages a plurality of queues hosted by one or more entities. The queue service is in constant communication with the entities providing queue management, queue analysis, and queue recommendations. The queue service is likewise in direct communication with queued persons. Sending periodic updates while also motivating and incentivizing punctuality and minimizing wait times based on predictive analysis. The predictive analysis uses “Big Data” and other available data resources, for which the predictions assist in the balancing of persons across multiple queues for the same event or multiple persons across a sequence of queues for sequential events.

  • Publication number: 20220168259
Abstract: Capsaicin compositions and methods for enhancing hydrophobicity of a molecule useful for pharmaceutical applications, including: (1) a prodrug using a linker such as a carbamate between capsaicin with other structures in order to optimize kinetic control of capsaicin cleavage; (2) a prodrug using a linker such as an unsaturated carboxylic ester between capsaicin with other structures in order to optimize kinetic control of capsaicin cleavage; (3) esters of long-chain fatty acids and capsaicin where hydroxyl groups provide handles for attachment of additional capsaicin molecules; and (4) the use of carboxylic acid diesters to increase overall hydrophobicity of two or more covalently-linked capsaicin molecules. Formulations of palmitated esters of capsaicin are also described, which are designed to enhance hydrophobicity of a molecule useful for pharmaceutical applications, for example to provide compounded mixtures designed to optimize analgesic efficacy.

  • Patent number: 11347791
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for sharing a user interface between users. The system transmits live video simultaneously to a plurality of users. Then, the system determines a subset of the plurality of users, such that the subset includes two users that have a predetermined relationship. Then, during playback of the video, the system detects an object in a frame of the video corresponding to preferences of the first user. In response, the system determines whether the second user is researching information related to the object during playback of the video. If the second user is researching such information, the system streams a mirror image of a user interface with which the second user is performing the researching to the first user.

  • Patent number: 11338078
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are presented that facilitate the provision of reduced pressure to a tissue site by using a delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge, which separates liquids and gases and provides a flow path for reduced pressure. In one instance, a delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge includes a delivery manifold for delivering reduced pressure to a treatment manifold at the tissue site and an absorbent layer proximate the delivery manifold adapted to receive and absorb liquids. The delivery manifold and the absorbent layer are encapsulated in an encapsulating pouch. A first aperture is formed proximate a first longitudinal end of the delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge for fluidly communicating reduced pressure to the delivery manifold from a reduced-pressure source, and a second aperture is formed on a patient-facing side of the delivery-and-fluid-storage bridge. Reduced pressure is transferred to the tissue site via the second aperture. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11304893
Abstract: An implantable device contains a drug or biosensing compound, protected from the external environment within a human body by several barriers which are broken upon activation of the device through electrothermal, chemical, and mechanical processes. The device allows accurate and repeated dosing within a human body, thus reducing the number of implantation procedures required. This device extends the lifetime of a biosensor, reducing the number of implantation procedures required.

  • Publication number: 20220046325
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for creating a co-watching experience among audience members who are physically apart when watching the media asset. A media guidance application may monitor a sound of the first user. In response to the sound being detected during the monitoring, the media guidance application may determine whether the first user emitted the sound based on an occurrence in the video. In response to determining that the first user emitted the sound based on an occurrence in the video, the media guidance application may store the sound in connection with a timecode of the video corresponding to a time when the sound is detected. When the video is displayed to a second user, the sound of the first user may be played back based on the timecode of the video stored in connection with the sound.

  • Publication number: 20220014814
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for automatically indicating, during display of video of an event, actions in event that could satisfy side-game scoring scenarios. This may be accomplished by a media application that generates a live video of an event and retrieves data relating to a current status of a side-game in which a user is participating. The media application determines that a next play of the event could affect an outcome of the side-game and, in response, determines a particular action within the event that could affect the outcome of the side-game. The media application generates for display, within the video, an overlay on top of a playing space of the event, the overlay indicating where the particular action would need to occur to affect the outcome of the side-game.
