  • Publication number: 20170277838
Abstract: Automated criteria template generation and automated criteria population in a contract model for improving the efficiency, functionality, and accuracy of systems for contract modeling and claim valuation are provided. When modeling contracts for claim valuation, terms are entered into a contract model, and criteria are entered that determine whether a particular term matches an item on a claim. A contract modeling and claim valuation system collects and stores criteria data that have matched service terms during claim valuations, and prioritizes the criteria for building criteria templates for associated service terms. When a contract model is being built, and entry of a particular service term is received, the contract modeler searches for criteria templates that are associated with the service term. A criteria template is selected, and the criteria in the criteria template are automatically loaded into a criteria section of the contract modeler graphical user interface.

  • Publication number: 20170173472
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system and a method for visualizing synthetic objects within a real-world video clip. The embodiments allow interactive, synthetic objects or characters to appear as if they are “embedded” inside or form part of a video clip. These objects move independently of the environment within the video clip and are controlled by a user. In one embodiment the video frames are set as textures in the furthermost layer in a 3D environment viewer or 3D “engine”. In another embodiment separate layers of video frames are superimposed with the synthetic objects on an output screen and synchronizing the movements and the field of view settings to give the perception that only one camera is used.

  • Patent number: 9659596
Abstract: Systems and methods for encoding and playing back video at adjustable playback speeds by interpolating frames to achieve smooth playback in accordance with embodiments of the invention are described. One embodiment includes a source encoder that includes a processor, memory including an encoder application, where the encoder application directs the processor to: select a subset of frames from a first video sequence; generate motion vectors describing frames from the first video sequence that are not part of the selected subset of frames, where each motion vector describes movement between a frame in the subset of frames and a frame not included in the subset of frames; store the motion vectors; decimate frames not included in the subset of frames from the first video sequence to generate a second video sequence having a nominal frame rate less than the frame rate of the first video sequence; and encode the second video sequence at the nominal frame rate.

  • Patent number: 9558048
Abstract: A middleware machine environment can manage message queues for multimode applications. The middleware machine environment includes a shared memory on a message receiver, wherein the shared memory maintains one or more message queues for the middleware machine environment. The middleware machine environment further includes a daemon process that is capable of creating at least one message queue in the shared memory, when a client requests that the at least one message queue be set up to support sending and receiving messages. Additionally, different processes on a client operate to use at least one proxy to communicate with the message server. Furthermore, the middleware machine environment can protect message queues for multimode applications using a security token created by the daemon process.

  • Publication number: 20160378713
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for enabling persistence of application data, using replication over a remote direct memory access (RDMA) network. In an enterprise application server or other environment having a plurality of processing nodes, a replicated store enables application data to be written using remote direct memory access to the random access memory (RAM) of a set of nodes, which avoids single points of failure. Replicated store daemons allocate and expose memory to client applications via network endpoints, at which data operations such as reads and writes can be performed, in a manner similar to a block storage device. Resilvering can be used to copy data from one node to another, if it is determined that the number of data replicas within a particular set of nodes is not sufficient to meet the persistence requirements of a particular client application.

  • Publication number: 20160180034
Abstract: A claim valuation engine is provided. The claim valuation engine enables a healthcare provider to accurately value an expected reimbursement of a claim from a payer based on a contract between the healthcare provider and the payer. Contract terms, code sets, fee schedules, and other valuation data is input into the engine. The engine receives a claim from a healthcare provider information system, locates a contract applicable for valuing the claim, correlates the claim attributes with the contract terms according to a hierarchy, and determines an expected reimbursement for each claim attribute or group of attributes. The claim valuation engine is further operable to determine contractual allowances, determine under and overpayments by validating remittances, and to simulate valuation of a contract by valuing a claim based on multiple sets of contract terms. The engine is further operable to generate output reports and post results to the healthcare provider information system.

  • Patent number: 9273940
Abstract: A gun firing method whereby four projectile segments that are contained in a cartridge case are fired simultaneously which creates a predetermined square pattern on a target to increase the hit probability of the dispersion. Two sets of projectile segments that are contained in the cartridge case, are fired by a gun, spin around the central longitudinal axis of each projectile segment, and provide a powerful square salvo of projectile segments. The dispersion produces a substantial increase in the hit probability when compared to a single shot.
