  • Publication number: 20160207487
Abstract: An inertia locking system for a seat of a vehicle includes a base member that is fixed to a seat structure and a Double D shaped shaft that rotates with a cam to allow the seat back to be adjusted. A movable inertia locking bracket has an opening including a circular portion and a slot portion. The Double D shaped shaft is disposed in the opening of the inertia locking bracket and includes flat opposite surfaces that prevent rotation of the Double D shaped shaft relative to the inertia bracket when the Double D shaped shaft is disposed in the slot portion of the opening. Acceleration causes the inertia locking bracket to slide forward such that the Double D shaped shaft is disposed in the elongate slot portion to prevent rotation of the Double D shaped shaft and prevent release of the seat back mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20160018902
Abstract: Systems and methods for human hand gesture recognition through a training mode and a recognition mode are disclosed. In the training mode, a user can move a handheld device with a hand gesture intended to represent a command. Sensors within the handheld device can record raw data, which can be processed to obtain a set of values corresponding to a set of discrete features, which is stored in a database and associated with the intended command. The process is repeated for various hand gestures representing different commands. In the recognition mode, the user can move the handheld device with a hand gesture. A computer system can compare a set of values corresponding to a set of discrete features derived from the hand gesture with the sets of values stored in the database, select a command with the closest match and displays and/or executes the command.

  • Patent number: 9239696
Abstract: An electronic device includes complementary dual displays, which enable sending a video signal to a first display, wherein the first display is a refresh-based, high frame rate display; displaying the video signal on the first display; and printing a frame of the video signal to a second display, wherein the second display is a bistable, low frame rate display, the printing including, loading a portion of a current frame of the video signal into a frame buffer, and displaying the current frame of the video signal to a second display, such that a bistable static image is displayed on the second display. The device may be switched among read, extend, and navigate modes, which enable different transitions of content between the two screens by a common application, such as a browser application.

  • Patent number: 9102247
Abstract: A vehicle seat bar assembly having a seat with first and second engagement members. A rear seat bracket extends between the first and second engagement members of a seat. A torsion bar extends between the first and second engagement members and is operably engaged therewith. The torsion bar includes an intermediate bracket engagement portion and a first and second linear portion that extends between the first engagement member and the intermediate bracket engagement portion and the second engagement member and the intermediate bracket engagement portion. The torsion bar also includes a first and second distal end configured to engage the first and second engagement members, respectively, which induces a torsional resistance in the torsion bar when the seatback is at a fully reclined position and when the seatback is at a fully folded position.

  • Publication number: 20140360268
Abstract: Described herein is an accelerometer that can be sensitive to acceleration, but not anchor motion due to sources other than acceleration. The accelerometer can employ a set of electrodes and/or transducers that can register motion of the proof mass and support structure and employ and output-cancelling mechanism so that the accelerometer can distinguish between acceleration and anchor motion due to sources other than acceleration. For example, the effects of anchor motion can be cancelled from an output signal of the accelerometer so that the accelerometer exhibits sensitivity to only acceleration.

  • Patent number: 8900843
Abstract: The invention relates to a kit and method for the capture of tumor cells in a body fluid sample. The kit and method of the invention can capture living tumor cells but not non-living tumor cells or cell fragments so that the tumor species can be further identified by further culture of the captured tumor cells. Also, the kit and method of the invention can readily identify whether a sample contains tumor cells and collect these tumor cells for further identification so that the presence of cancer and development of the metastasis and early relapse can be found.

  • Publication number: 20140315281
Abstract: This invention relates to microfluidic chips for and their applications in acquiring sperms with high velocity and/or motility. The microfluidic chip comprises an inlet region, a first flow channel, a divergent channel, an optional block structure with rounded corners and one or more outlet region(s). The invention mimics sperm activation process in body and designs a microfluidic chip mimicking the activation process so that higher amount of populations and/or subpopulations of sperms with high motility can be acquired.

  • Publication number: 20130318158
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided that synchronizes the user interface state of content of a host application on a host device with a client application on a client device. By synchronizing the user interface state across the devices, the client application on the client device displays the user interface of content of the host application. This allows a user of the devices to leverage a larger display screen of the client device to improve the user's experience when viewing content originally displayed on the host device.
